Is the iPhone overhyped?

Whats the point? So you can carry a tiny little amount of music on it, and use the internet on a tiny little screen. Sorry, but if you can't stand to be away from the internet for a few hours, then you have a problem.

AT&T supposedly has some new plans for the iPhone that include unlimited data usage.

If iPhone is supposed t take on some of the blackberry/treo market, it needs to sync.

How can it be an iPod device if it doesn't sync? Are they expecting it only to have subscription music and not your home catalog?

Hmmmm....confused. I'm not getting one, but as an existing customer, I still see the 2 year minimum contract fine print below. Maybe a 2 year Data package? Then the Unlimited data will only set you back $960 plus activation, taxes, etc.

according to this, it can sync to outlook thru itunes on windows, much like syncing to mail/address book on a mac. we'll just have to see how well they can pull that off...

I for one think this is a great feature. No more listening to 5 voicemails that you know the people had nothing to say when you just want to get to the first one. With the visual voicmail, just skip to the important ones, listen and then get to the others when you have time.

Consider how voice mail works on most phones. You've been skiing all day and when you grab your phone you find that you have seven voice mails. You were waiting for one important call, but you need to go through them one at a time in order they were received.

If you have visual voicemail (like on the iPhone) your voice mails will be shown on the screen in a list (like they were email) and you can select which one you want to listen to first, second, etc, or even delete ones right away if you see it's that annoying sales guy phoning again.

Just a little thing, but a handy feature.
