    Mount Assiniboine Beta Requested

Heading to Assiniboine mid-August this year, thinking about trying for the summit. I have plenty of beta on the actual approach.
As for the actual summit I hear it is a one day push, roughly 8-14 hours fairly non-technical alpine climb, but thats about all I know.
    Requesting beta on the following:

    Difficulty of climb.
What is the crux of the ascent?
    Are there any fixed ropes/anchors?
Are there any W, M or rock 5+ pitches?
If so, what sort of rack is needed?
    Any other info.

I don't really want to hire a guide so I'm wondering if any maggots in the area have attempted/summited Assiniboine. Planning on climbing with a 4 man team.
    Cheers.

Apparently the "summit" forum has nothing to do with actual summits. Ok...
Now that I know i'll take my questions elsewhere.
Also... sticky that thread about not asking mountaineering related questions here, because in a forum which revolves around mountain sports the term "summit" can be too easily confused with mountain, which apparently in this case it doesn't refer to.

That's a cool area, i day hiked into that valley one time from the Kananaskis side. Stunning.

Oops, sorry, forgot, this ain't about 'summits'. Cuz when ya think about it, Teton GRAVITY Sports, except for those soy bikers, is about using gravity, not fighting it...

I checked a couple of those out, they seem to have pretty good route descriptions. Thanks for the heads up. The best info I'll get is probably from a few of the locals there, but I'd like to have a general idea of what sort of equipment I need to bring as we might be walking in instead of flying in (which is apparently what most people do).

Sticky that thread to avoid further confusion.
It's funny because people post threads in the "Ski and Snowboard" section that have absolutely nothing to do with skiing/snowboarding, but it isn't ok to ask a question about mountain climbing in a forum called "summits".

Contact the ACC or check their website (Alpine Club of Canada). Not sure how much info they'll give there. If you spend a night at Mtn Assiniboine Lodge you should get some decent info as Sepp is a mtn guide as are 2 of his kids. You could also try mountainguide.com as they are based in Banff and very familiar with the area but may be more interested in guiding you then helping you self guide.

Hey now buddy, don't start carelessly throwing logic around.

If you party with other mags at the top of a mountain, does that count as a summit, or do all summits have to take place below tree line? Also If I host a summit at my house, and the the bathroom is on the second floor, does that mean everyone has to piss outside for fear of climbing something, even if it is just stairs. I suggest changing the name of the forum to "really, really low valleys" instead of summits, just to really fuck with people.
