    The Water Appreciation Thread

I drank some today. It was pretty good. I keep it in Brita in the fridge, nice when it hit the 90s today. I drink water in the morning, but not as much as I should. I never remember being dehydrated, or having to carry water with my everywhere when I was in HS or College. Does your body go through some sort of change sometime in your mid 20s. i take a glass of water with me to bed always now. I never did that until a couple years ago. Now, I'm always thirsty as shit. What's that? I put some ice in my water at work today. I prefer it be chilled or cold, I'm not into room temp. water at all. Obviously I'll drink it if I have to.

The best water I ever drank was runoff from a glacier. If you can get way up on a glacier and away from the sediment buildup at the bottom, you can dip into those blue puddles or streams with a bottle. That shit is icy cold and oh so refreshing. It's been frozen forever, so you don't have to worry about getting worms or something.

mmmmm, water. Best it ever tasted I drank straight out of the Merced River atop Yosemite Falls. I was unprepaired for that hike and had no choice. Was sure I was gonna be sick on the way down but it didn't happen.

I have water. A lot of water. High and early spring run off combined with rain-o-plenty has made for high water table at my irrigated wasteland. My cellar is a foot deep in water, and the annual smell of mildew is in the house.

But I appreciate the HUDGE lake stored in the ground here in the high desert thanks to all the irrigating.

Sometimes it can be a pain in the ass, but for the most part, I like dealing with water every day 8 months of the year. After almost 15 years of it I now know more about water in the west than most.

Plain and simple: Whiskey is for drinkin. Water is for fightin.

For strange reasons, my town is very proud that it does not add fluoride to our water. I have to say, it is the best tap water I have ever tasted.

BTW, it is such a shame what happened to Farrah:

Fluoride additives (silicofluoride, sodium fluorosilicate, etc) can contain trace amounts of arsenic and other regulated contaminants...many communities are ceasing the practice of fluoridation because of this (boulder is one)

    I also heart water...

This is unacceptable! We can do better. (although I think water leads in the response to views ratio)

We need to bring in water tangents... Like pure water vs. water with just a touch of... dirt?... mineral? (floride was started but not elaborated)... What?

    or

What is the proper temperature? Should it be in the freezer? or the fridge? or just enjoyed straight from... the backyard pool?

    and

How should it be prepared? Straight?... on the rocks?... with ice?... in little bitty ice flake form?...

I think they are fed by lines that run straight thru the old copper and iron mine. What boy? Timmy fell down the old well and he says it tastes like hexavalent chromium?

Aspen's water tastes great (IMHO) because of all the minerals in it from the mines around here, but I doubt thats good for your health.
