    What Is K2's Warranty Policy

I have a pair of 06/07 Apache Recon's, 174cm, one tail of the ski that is bent at about a 15 degree angle behind the heel piece of the binding. I skied it for about 40 days before this happened, I don't know how it bent, the skis hadn't left the ground on the day in question, and there is no visible impact on the bases. I am light guy, only weigh 130 pounds, and don't ski super aggressive. K2 will not warranty them as they say there is no flaw in the construction of the ski, but they don't know why the ski has bent either. Has anyone else had any issues with a K2 ski warranty, a ski bending or breaking, not being warrantied, or anything else useful to know about the Fir/Aspen core. How could this happen. Unrelated, but I had issues with pre-releases on the Marker Piston M1 12.0 binding that came with the ski, releasing from the toe piece on a few occasions. Anyone had any similar issues. Really interested to know your guys thoughts.

Let me welcome you with a healthy, robust, and yet kind and ironic: JONG!

In particular, re the warranty issue and this post generally: Tech Talk, JONG! (I.e., you're in the wrong forum)

Re the Markers, we can add: Search function, JONG! But in a nutshell, "Marker" is a synonym for "pre-release" around here.

But as a general reponse, well, that sucks.

    Question

    Wow,
Don't kill him on his VERY FIRST POST!!!!!, that is frickin' rude. If it was his 3rd, 4th, 5th I would understand. You are acting like a damn NY Skankees fan.

Who did you talk to at K2? They're usually pretty good about warranty issues, I'd go higher up in the company before I gave up.

So apparently, hairy thinks I was too nice, and Altaholic thinks I was too mean. I guess that means I hit the sweet spot.

He posted in the wrong forum and without searching. That triggers a mandatory JONGing. I don't write the rules.

But he came in with a genuine question, and asked nicely and without a sense of entitlement. Hence, the JONGing was mere ritual.

    Welcome.

You can bend them with your mind if you try hard enough, kinda like spoons. Did you have any bad thoughts..?

If you study with The Bhagwan, you can bend even snowboards. For three easy payments of $4999..

Did you ski any hard deep bumps that day.

Binding systems skis have a tendoncy to bend like that. Like Iceman said go higher up the foodchain. Hell mention you posted up at TGR about it. That works rather well with CS dept.

Well its now gone to Tech Talk, thanks for the advice. Has anyone got any names and numbers at K2, higher up. The only guy I have spoken with is Nigel Briell from CS. The store that I returned them to didn't even know their Rep's name. No bumps were skied on the day they bent, 10+cm.
