    The Wack Files: Arm paralysis

I've read 2 stories in the last few days about riders on the north shore hitting trees so hard that they suffered permanent nerve damage to one of their arms. One guy, who was featured in the new Mountain Biker, had his amputated and still rides. The other was a kid on Pinkbike who got Photo of the Day for his one-armed riding with his paralyzed arm tucked into his shirt.

    WTF?

Had that happen to me, albeit for a short period of time. I crashed badly on a small stunt on A River Runs Through It in Whistler, and somehow landed on my head such that the impact pinched my nerves and my arm just went dead for a few seconds (not to mention that I was seeing stars).

It had me seriously worried for a moment. Apparently it's not all that unusual though.
