Mush? You get after it?
Probably 20 fish total this weekend. 2 keepers.
And I tried to rollcast a baby schoolie that ate a mushmouth as big as him.![]()

The only thing worse than the feeling that you are going to die is the realization that you probably won't.
Nice work!
I tried...went all over southern RI on a mad dash from NYC Saturday morning. Fished East Beach/Salt Pond, Ninigret, Charlestown, upper Narrow River, lower Narrow River, Weekapaug...nothing. Saw maybe three fish caught by others. It was just nice being back up there.
Here's the greeting I got at East Beach at 7am...what a beautiful day:
Saw these two show-offs near Weekapaug...
Came back to NYC this morning and dragged my wife to the beach not wanting to get skunked. Caught two small bluefish. Actually, after all that driving for nothing the first might as well have been a bar of gold.
Here's a shot by my wife of me going to throw back bluefish #2.
Weirdest thing happened...I had him in the boga grip and went to toss him into the surf, but I screwed up and didn't open the grib when I tossed. I totally let go of it and the grip/2lb bluefish went flying into the waves.
My wife was thinking I was an idiot, that I just forgot about the grip and threw it away by mistake. I'm pissed thinking I just threw away $85, but three casts later and about 30 feet from the beach I hooked what I thought was another blue...turned out I snagged the nylon loop tied to the grip, still in the fishes mouth...saved!!![]()

OOF you got lucky.![]()
One of these days I'll invest in a Boga.
But that 10-12 TFO bluewater and another Penn 4G-AR are priority. (and another calcutta conquest)![]()

This was my first time using it, hence the idiot maneuver. Totally worth the $$ though for handling the blues and pikes.
Still coming to NYC in June? I'll be at Block Island the 15-19th, but should be around the remainder.
