The problem with the TACO trade in general is that it contains a paradox: if TACO is always priced in then there's no falling markets to induce discipline & chickening out

Now that some reporter insulted Trump with an inquiry about the TACO meme and he found that to be a nasty question, my guess is that he holds firm on 8/1. At least until he doesn't.

Shit. I sold just about everything in stocks and mutual funds in order to reallocate. But now I’m hesitant to buy back in at the record high prices. WWMD?

When you have the answers be sure to share them.
Never in U.S. history has the public chosen leadership this malevolent. The moral clarity of their decision is crystalline, particularly knowing how Trump will regard his slim margin as a “mandate” to do his worst. We’ve learned something about America that we didn’t know, or perhaps didn’t believe, and it’ll forever color our individual judgments of who and what we are.

Withdraw it all and becoming an itinerant farm worker. I hear it’s a better life. Where is this market going. Buying stocks at 25 to 33 PE is hard for me to swallow

My stock tip is innovation and growth drive long term equity returns, and the big tech- laden QQQs leverage that simple fact. For the past two decades they've averaged an equivalent annual CAGR of just over 14-percent. So buy and hold some Qs if you feel the time is right for you.

Whether or not the time is right at the moment has a lot to do with Trump's horrible indefensible tariff policy, That's not my opinion. The administration itself can't coherently explain let alone defend its own tariff policy:

Is the stock market going to tank? Not the bond market. Not the private equity market. Not the real estate market. Not the dollar. Nor pig futures. Nor gold prices. (Although they may all be related, or not.) Nor anything else.

And not a small 100-200 point correction/gains taking. And not Is the stock market overvalued?

Nor any other possible similar question (although they may all be related, or not).

But: Is the US, stock, market (let assume for sake of discussion the DJIA in particular) going to TANK in the next six months? Discuss. Or not.
Sorry jackass, I didn't know this was a stock picking thread. And take note of the start date, it would seem the answer was a resounding YES!!!!

And like I would take much advice from anyone on a ski forum about investments in the 1st place. Although there are some very savvy folks here, you aint one of em.

Every week Jake Tapper has a different small business owner on his show to talk about if and how they are affected by the Trump tariffs. Last night's guy was pleading for Americans to understand it is not the countries that "pay" the tariffs. It is invoiced directly to the small businesses when they import materials, parts, products, whatever. This guy's business was getting killed so badly he had to take out a home equity loan to pay the frickin tariff bill. Damn.

All the most successful Wall Street guys retire to a life of selling old people medical insurance in Missouri. This is common knowledge.

J Barron, you don’t know shit. I was a proprietary trader on the floor leased a seat for about 8 yrs.. I never had a losing month. Honestly, you’d never have lost either, it was shooting fish in the barrel. I’m fair. But don’t tell I don’t know more about who pulls the strings, where they are, than your dumb broker and his whole office

I didn’t blow it all on hookers and blow, 2 great kids to show for it, living life my way now. Who give a fuck else.

If you bought lower, not a bad place to take some off. I’m still riding all my longs from earlier, but I wouldn’t be surprised I give most of it back. We’re just trading in the same old value range we were in last yr. Mkt is not searching for value, will take a lot to go higher, may drift though, tough short.

    Anything could happen.
