Recycle bindings?

Just pulled 8 pairs of old alpine bindings off a ski collection to become furniture. Mostly various Salomons (727 to 777) but it's probably 35 lbs of metal and plastic and we'll be getting some more. Do recycle centers take these things for scrap metal? Or do they just go into the landfill?

Scrap yards will take anything metal but no Fence ...... but for 35 pounds i wouldn't bother driving down there

I have a metal recycle (not a general recycle center) place near me and occasionally take items to them. I asked about bringing some old strap chairs and he said yes they would take them. He said the general rule was if it had approx. 70%+ metal they would take it.

I would think the old binders would be okay if you can find a metal recycler near you and want to make a trip.

Put them in the "free" section of your local Craig's List. Someone might want them. My ski shop used to use toes of old Solly binders for apron and coat hooks. If I found a classic old binding I'd just drill it into the ceiling support beams.
