Manitou Swinger 3-way vs Fox Float R (w/ propedal)

Given the choice of these two shocks on the same frame, which would you choose? Both are air shocks. Both frames/shocks are leftover new old stock, both are claimed 5" travel.

    (1) 2005 Manitou Swinger 3-way, on 2005 Jamis XLT.
    (2) 2006 Fox Float R w/ factory-set propedal (not adjustable), on 2006 Jamis XLT.

The Swinger 3-way has adjustable SPV pressure, which in theory should make it more tunable than the non-adjustable Float R. But in general, I'd rather have a Fox shock than a Manitou shock.

If I do this build, the front end of the bike will be a 140mm Fox Vanilla RLC.

had both on a cannondale prophet, the fox as adjustable, but I would go that way.

you can work on them your self.

Fox over Manitou any day of the week. Manitou has a bad habit of blowing out when you need them the most.

Would you still take the non-adjustable Fox Float propedal over the adjustable Manitou Swinger?

go with the Swinger- I know there is a bad hype about manitu products but the swinger is such a solid shock- I think it is better then FOX products-- and it will proform way better then the vanilla R

I can't say much about the float, but I had a bike with a swinger 3-way on it a couple years ago. I found that I could either have a harsh ride and be able to do 2-3' drops on it, or I could make it plush and bottom dropping off curbs. I couldn't seem to be able to tune it to handle a very wide variety of terrain, so I wasn't very impressed with it. But if you never hit drops over 1.5-2' it could be a good shock. Also, if you go with Fox you always have the option of sending it to PUSH and making it ride perfect.
