    Cheap new beacons

In the great tradition of posting beacon posts in the main forum and not tech talk... ProLite Gear has the SOS F1ND (best analog range, but analog) on sale for $170. For the techno-oriented, the new PIEPS DSP is on sale for $315 there. And after my level 1 field trip this week-end where we got plenty of multiple deep burials, I'd say the ability to mask the signal of a found beacon before you can unbury someone and turn the beacon off could be priceless... It's a biatch to deal with multiple signals otherwise. More training needed...

    Beacons

Before investing in a new beacon, check out the transciever review in the latest Couloir. Porbably the most comprehensive review done to date on beacons.

    Get a job, Max Gosley.
I went out there in search of experience. To taste, and to touch, and to feel as much as a man can, before he repents.
