Exclamation Terrain park at Alta is a Go.

Or so I've heard. I haven't seen it myself.

Quote from that bastion of hard-hitting, accurate ski news, www.Newschoolers.com

It will be open monday afternoon we found a way around the sign's, of course its small nothing will shut it down faster than a spinal injury the first week. but we will be making it bigger week by week and we're getting rails and boxes made by KAB who does dc mtn. lab and park city and brighton. and the'll be there this weekend and next year were moving it to the entire length of sunny side lift only if it becomes popular and they see the potential of it so please support it in its infancy.

Does this mean Xover's Ronald McDonald steeze may get more play?

I saw it today from the top of East Greeley (I think that's where I was). Looks pretty nice from far away.
Remind me. We'll send him a red cap and a Speedo.

So now that they've taken your advice about a park, can we expect to see an all-nude, full liquor license strip club there soon?

KAB rails is good shit. They make Brighton's stuff, but not PC (I don't think). It would be funny, and ironic, if Alta ended up with better rails than The Bird (which wouldn't be hard).

If anyone sees anything up there, please report back.

If the park gets good enough, maybe miss altatude will finally live up to her name and grace us with her presence at alta.
AC, did you find out when she's going to hood (or was it whistler) this summer?

Bump. I have confirmed info that KAB is building them a couple small rails and a 20' box. So they'll come out the gate with better boxes than The Bird, if not better rails.

I went up yesterday afternoon, but they closed the park early so I just got to look at it...

I was there last tuesday. Second time i've been in any park in like a year. Definitely a good confidence builder. Three jumps in a row straight down to the cattrack. None of 'em big, but a good start. It would be interesting to see how they build on this. I don't know where on sunnyside you're even gonna find a ton more vertical, but maybe expand it to the next trail over (before race course) cause that place could easily become a clusterfuck once some skiers recognize the park even exists...

I might try and get out tomorrow before the crowds come (and before I spend the rest of my day watching college b-ball). Any other mag/mins?

Anybody else think of the possibly negative consequences of having a park under the main beater lift?

Beaters in the park can't be a good thing as far as liability issues go.

I mentioned it to a couple tourists on the lift and though they had been skiing there for a couple days, they hadn't noticed it yet...

I think as long as it's closed off and you have to go through a gate with a warning sign that's probably all they need.
