Good god, flying first class ROCKS.

It kind of sucks, now I am officially spoiled.
I just took a shower in the lounge, after lots of free piscos, good food, and now some fast internet before the flight.

This is going to be a hard habit to break...thanks, FFM folks!

Great Sushi earlier in Lima with shamrockpow, good dude!

    Talks to y'alls soon!

There isn't anyway to justify paying 3 to 5 times as much for a first class seat unless you are filthy rich but it's hard to ride in steerage after you enjoyed the experience.

What is a good deal is first class on frequent flier miles if you can do it for a lower "price" (fewer miles).

Example: I did BOS to Las Vegas to Salt Lake to BOS first Class for 45k miles last year (delta sky saver) best coach FF "price" for same trip was 50k miles (delta sky choice). The sky saver first class tickets don't get snapped up as quickly either.
Damn, we're in a tight spot!

I flew 1st class to Spain several years ago. Delta delayed my flight to ATL so I missed my original to Madrid. The only thing they had available over the ocean that night was 1st class to Zurich and they had to give them to me. It does rock, especially on a 10 hour flight.

I've done Business/First Class on domestic airlines for work a couple of times, but they were nothing compared to British Airways Business Class. Last summer (due to BA's screwup) we got upgraded to Business Class to London. What a trip! Got access to the lounge at O'Hare with a good meal. The "seats" were more like individual pods, with full-reclining ability. Arrived in London completely refreshed and ready to go, a rare occurence! I highly recommend it!

Unfortunately, since then, we've had to return to flying with the rest of the peons in coach where we really belong!

Enjoy buddy. I got ride 1st class on two family trips to Europe(my mom used the excuse that after her multiple back surgeries she couldn't sit that long in coach) and once you try it, its hard to go back. Plus the 1st class stewardess's on Lufthansa are way hotter than the skanks they have serving in coach.

I believe this qualifies you for an honorary PhD in cultural studies. There could be some entertaining-as-hell photo TRs from cross country Greyhound trips. I'd much rather see that TR than one from flying first class.

About 10 years ago my girlfriend and I took a greyhound bus from Sioux Falls, South Dakota to Tampico, Mexico. It took 52 hours. When we finally arrived in Tampico we were a fucking mess.

Never gone first but lots in bussiness. Across NA whew a one movie flight. Try Hong Kong to Toronto direct in econ class , that is a long flight.

It really depends on the airline and plane how good it is. Flew lots on Lufthansa 747s in bussiness and wasn't that great. Flew back on a new A380 and tons of room almost full recline. BA with their bathtub seats are pretty sweet too. The ones that are in pairs one one way the other facing back of plane.

No matter how grand the destination, there ain't any place in America that's worth 10 hours in a greyhound bus.

dear lord. I can't even stand taking the city buses to and fro class. I swear to go the strangest people ride the M15. I've also walked home 40 blocks and BEATEN the M11.

To the tune of "Another one Bites the Dust:"

Ridin' in a bus down the boulevard
And the place was pretty packed
Couldn't find a seat so I had to stand
With the perverts in the back
It was smellin' like a locker room
There was junk all over the floor
We're already packed in like sardines
But we're stoppin' to pick up more
    Look out

    Another one rides the bus
    Another one rides the bus
    And another comes on
    And another comes on
    Another one rides the bus
    Hey
    He's gonna sit by you
    Another one rides the bus

There's a suitcase pokin' me in the ribs
There's an elbow in my ear
There's a smelly old bum standin' next to me
    Hasn't showered in a year
Well, I think I'm missin' a contact lens
    I think my wallet's gone
And I think this bus is stoppin' again
To let a couple more freaks get on
    Look out

    Another one rides the bus
    Another one rides the bus
    And another comes on
    And another comes on
    Another one rides the bus
    Hey
    He's gonna sit by you
    Another one rides the bus

    Yeah

    Another one rides the bus
Another one rides the bus, ow
Another one rides the bus, hey, hey
Another one rides the bus, hey

The window doesn't open, and the fan is broke
And my face is turnin' blue
I haven't been in a crowd like this
Since I went to see The Who
Well, I should've got off a couple miles ago
But I couldn't get to the door
There isn't any room for me to breathe
Now we're gonna pick up more, yeah

    Another one rides the bus
    Another one rides the bus
    And another comes on
    And another comes on
    Another one rides the bus
    Hey
    He's gonna sit by you
    Another one rides the bus

    Don't ever fly netjets.
You'll cry when you have to climb aboard with the "normals" after that.

If you ever want to feel normal again, fly airtran. It will make you long for Southwest coach.

Note: At one point airtran would let you upgrade to first class for 50 to 100 bucks. best damn money I ever spent.

A friend had buddy passes you could upgrade to first class for $15 if seats were available... I'd have spent 10 times that.

For me it was like cocaine... having done it once, (or a few times, in the case of one of 'em), knowing that if I do it again I'll be addicted... and haven't gone there since. A painfully wonderful memory...

A friend of mine just got back from an overnight trip on a private jet. She had the rear lounge to herself. After that NetJets sucks. Meanwhile my wife got back from Germany yesterday flying stowage class. She was/is a mess

Exactly - been lucky enough to roll on the company jet - its tough to go back into the airport. Unfortunately its part of my job.

Well, it's a corporation, but it's not like flying commercial, you and your party are the only passengers on the flight. It's fractional ownership, like a timeshare.

And way better (cheaper) than owning your own jet.

I once took a bus from Istanbul to Izmir on the coast of Turkey. It was on overnight bus ride of about 8 hours total. As soon as the doors closed and we started out, every male passenger lit up a cig. Holy crap! 8 hours stuck on a bus filled with smoke. My buddy who had just quit smoking 3 months earlier said it was the toughest 8 hours of his life but convinced him he never wanted to smoke again.

On a happier note did a trip on British Air from Seattle to Lisbon in FC. Those sleeper seats sure are sweet. Your own PJ's for the over night flights. Only 7 of the 14 FC seats were full. It was tough even going back to domestic FC on U.S. airlines, which has gotten steadly worse over the past 7 years.
