That sucks crinkle. hope you're ok.

the rest of you demonizing the SUV's, sell it elsewhere. if Crink's buddy jacked up his subaru and put a bumper on it, it would hand out the same damage. That was a cherokee friggen sport. a compact suv at best. any volvo or benz wagon weighs more than that thing.

well the fact that he hit the brakes about a tenth of a second before he hit us, show, since he cleared the bumper and just hit the gate at, oh, lets say 25mph. I think people deomonize SUVs because they do so much damage, when people don't know how to drive them. which is the number 1 case in point here. drunk and young.

I hope your neck is ok. That car looks just like the back of my 86 suby after I got rear-ended by a flatbed truck 13 years ago. I was rolling waiting for an opportunity to merge when a flatbed truck nailed me. I learned that you can fare a lot better in a rear end if you are stomping on the brakes and bracing. My head and neck flopped around like a bobblehead doll. When I got out of the car I fell down in the street. Ambulance came and they took me to Boulder Community, where they diagnosed a severe cervical sprain and closed head injury. I don't remember anything from the following 4 weeks, including writing an article that was published in Rock and Ice. I have no recollection of writing it but they published it and paid me. I had three months of physical therapy. About 5 years ago I developed cranial and trigeminal neuralgias -- very painful conditions -- that may have resulted from that accident. The settlement I got from the insurance agency was an insult. It didn't even cover the time I lost from work.

Why am I saying all this? Because you need to get checked by a doctor if for no other reason than to have a record of that moving forward. +++vibes+++

I boiled my thermometer, and sure enough, this spot, which purported to be two thousand feet higher than the locality of the hotel, turned out to be nine thousand feet LOWER. Thus the fact was clearly demonstrated that, ABOVE A CERTAIN POINT, THE HIGHER A POINT SEEMS TO BE, THE LOWER IT ACTUALLY IS. Our ascent itself was a great achievement, but this contribution to science was an inconceivably greater matter.

What also sucks is the probable chance that your friend's car will be repaired and not totalled. Unless the frame is bent, the parts are cheap and readily available for that car. Depending on the value- they might just fix it. Take it to the best repairshop!!
Just keep driving it the way it is, and use the money for heli skiing. It's a subaru. It'll be fine.

Regardless of what your girlfriend told you... you don't get crotch cridders from riding your bike.

Crink, really glad you all are ok, minus the bumps and bruises.

This is the type of thing that really scares the crap out of me when I am driving Taylor around.
