Tonight I went to a free lecture on optimizing cycling performance sponsored by The Orthopedic Specialty Hospital (TOSH) in Park City. They will be repeating the lecture again on May 10 from 7-9 PM at the TOSH office in Murray. (5848 S. 300 E.)

Beau Johnson, PT - Did my bike fitting on AG's recommendation - spoke about bike fit, core conditioning and bike handling skills.

Eric Heiden, MD - Yes, that Eric Heiden, 5 time Olympic gold medalist, pro cyclist and orthopedic surgeon, spoke about common cycling injuries and prevention.

Massimo "Max" Testa - Former team doctor to pro level teams like Mapei, spoke about training and performance. While some (lots?) of it was above my head, it was interesting nonetheless.

Beau won't be there next week. Jim Walker, PhD will speak about cycling and physiology

She didn't speak tonight, but Nanna Meyer, PhD will be speaking about nutrition for cyclists at next week's lecture.

I'm going back to Beau to get my new roadie fit and get my mountain bike fit fine tuned. I'm also giving serious consideration to spending the money to have Dr. Testa put me through his performance testing flaming hoops.

I think it will be worth your time if you're able to attend. For more information, call 435-647-5955 or 801-314-2996.
