hey dank, betcha don't have one of these....and just so the thread is not a complete waste, a bit about the north headwall of red slate....the diagonal chute off the southern side of the summit is not the north headwall direct slot....this slot was first skied as I know it by Ed C. at Mammoth Insulation on downhill gear and Kevin Klinefelter on pins of all things and one other person...well, they did the direct slot, and then the lower cooler where Klinefelter cartwheeled into and off the rocky abutment midway down......they carried his pack out and all survived......ask Plake about the direct slot vs. the diagonal line and maybe he will tell you the story of frostbite and broken homemade ascenders while doing this mid-winter...all said, I like to ski and thanx! for the attention...

This thread is retarded. I'm sure any 'ski off' on some of these backcountry lines would never happen because one of the two skiers would be about two hours behind the other to the summit.

If Hairy was all about dick waving, why haven't we seen shots of him shredding in the backcountry? I'm guessing it's because he doesn't feel the need of validation by posting TRs from every tour he does. Heck, I know the guy who skied the Thompson Right couloir that Hairy mentioned yesterday. You'll never see a TR from that guy even though he skis in the backcountry more than anyone on this board.

and looking at those big round turns, lemme guess, dave king right....he skis 90+ days with 3,000'+ vert per day....skis kinda weak cuz he's on pins....did I ever mention that I think pins are way sketchy for the real deal....there, that should fire things up...
