    Mounting point for Mothership Flite's?

I've been lurking here for a while now, and I've decided to join...This is my first post to the forum.

Some of you will recognize me from Epicski, and even though I still like that forum, I'm finding that the progression I want to take w/regards to my skiing gravitates me more towards becoming a "maggott"....Let the jonging begin (I just know it's coming )

On a serious note, I've got a question that seems better answered here than on Epic.

I have a pair of Line Mothership Flite's that I'd like to mount for general all mountain/pow skiing. Don't care about performance in the park, so I'm comtemplating mounting them behind the manufactures center.

My question is how far should I consider?

I'm also thinking about using the BOF method. Any thoughts on using this method vs. just using the center line as the reference point?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hey Steve,
I have had several pairs of mo ships through the years.
If you are an expert skier who wants the ski to plow and charge I would mount slightly back 1-2cm. If you still are progressing and fighting to stay in the front seat keep the mount on the line. Of all my sets I only mounted one forward. I much preferred the mount on the line. Hope this helps.

I owned two pair of motherships, and I now own Prophet 100's and 130's....ALL of them were skied better -1 to -3, depending on the length of the ski I had at the time...

for all conditions, -1 works best on my prophet 186's, and on my 182 motherships I had...

I liked mine right on the line. I think the Prophet is a little more progressive with its recommended mount point, whereas the Mothership was slightly more conventional. So, while the Prophet needs -1cm, the Mothership was nice on the line.

    Thanks for the replies/recs.

I decided to mount them -2 back w/some Axial Scratch 120's...It's snowing currently at Meadows , so I'll see how they ride this weekend.

Those topsheets are gonna look like swiss cheese, what with the old binding holes, the line binding mounts, and the scratches.

    Enjoy the skis!

No joking! I even considered plugging the stupid Line studs.

Is there going to be enough space for your mounts?

BTW, how'd that super-secret test packaging work out? I was sure I had an extra ski box lying around but had to use those amazon paperback book boxes at the last moment.

I plugged the holes from the Naxos no problem.

My Rossi Scratch's mounted just fine...Not even close to the Naxo holes.

Did a little P-tex and tuned to my preferred 1/2 bevels (I had to remove some sidewall, as they seemed more like 1/1), hot wax and ready to go.

I only wish I would've bought your Naxo's, as they would've fit my boots just fine, but I'm not really going to use these real bc skiing anyways, so more of a cool factor than practical. For bc use I'm going to mount some Duke's on My Goats next season, at least for lift served access.

    The packaging worked just fine.

Thanks again, and I had no idea you were a maggot, but I did wonder when I bought the ski's from you.
