Most of the interesting stuff is in my Silvretta TR, but here's a few more pictures (and some words) because skiing is fun.
I returned to Europe with high hopes of good snow, powder, steep mountains and good beer and a swath of snow slayage from Geneva to Innsbruck. Unfortunately the first morning I was there I tweaked my knee skiing the Grand Montets with powder, so I was out for most of a week. I suppose there's worse places to be than Chamonix with a bum knee, but I can't think of them.
Montenvers and the Mer de Glace:
Moon over the Aiguille du Midi:
Since I wasn't feeling Chamonix competent with my knee, I didn't have a jug of wine, and I didn't feel like dragging all of my crap across Europe, I beat an early retreat to Innsbruck. When your knee will only work union hours, might as well shoot pictures of people in the park (my first time):
Not only did my knee crap out during the tree - so did winter. Spring, and by the end summer, were in force in the Alps. Flowers in the Pitztal:
By the end my knee had gotten in decent enough shape to follow various people around:
and to find a few places that I'd like to get to next time - like BecherHaus, on the promontory:
