Everytime i see this thread pop up, i get a smile on my face from ear to ear (and a joyful tear in my eye, but....). I hope we have given him enough of our energy to keep fighting and one day become a full-fledged maggott

I just want to thank all of you that have helped him out. I'm no doctor, but his condition sounds pretty bad to me. It truly breaks my heart seeing it. The maggots put some sunshine back into some of his days and I think that is huge. I have refrained from posting a list of who sent what because I got the feeling that some people would rather remain anonymous. Here's a few more prayers for Don Alan.
I should probably change my username to IReallyDon'tTeleMuchAnymoreDave.

Thanks for stepping up like that TJ!!! You may have helped give him that little extra he needs to keep fighting. This thread breaks my heart, but it also mends it when the mags have stepped up, helping Don to smile another smile.

Dave is a super person, he may be a little fucking crazy sometimes (coconuts and hula skirt) but the man has a big heart and has great people skills.

    Wow...

Missed this too...looks like you guys gave him some happiness. He felt it, that's what life is about. He probably died with more caring, support, emotion and feeling of connectedness than many people ever feel.

That's a short, but full life.

Nothing is sadder than to see a child lose their life to cancer......It is encouraging to see all of the support and generosity that comes from this forum though.... +++++++vibes++++++

I'm not sure exactly why I agree with this statement - certainly wars and mass starvation seem bigger than one kid - but I do agree with it. It just strikes home.

Maybe it's because I have healthy kids and feel blessed and afraid at the same time. Blessed they are healthy, afraid it could change tomorrow.

I have given money every single month for the past twenty-couple years to St. Jude's Hospital for kids with cancer, I certainly am not saying that I think I'm great or anything, but it's a good cause and a great place, maybe consider helping if you can.

R.I.P Dan Alan, I'm so sorry it ended up this way.

isn't that what we're all here for? to be little bit less selfish and to do some cool stuff for others that makes them happy? i'm taking comfort in the fact that we did just that.

cuts close to home when my oldest is 8 years old...can't imagine the loss his parents are feeling right now....

fuck. There's nothing remotely ok about a kid dying, from anything.

    RIP.

I have chatted back and forth with Don Alan's sister and she wants to thank everyone for everything they have done to help improve Don's last days. It would amaze you guys to know what a great big sister she was throughout the whole thing. I think Don was very blessed to have so many good people pulling for him and send those + vibes his way. RIP, Don Alan.
