I'm thinking Loveland probably. Wanted to see if anyone had an idea that sparked my interest.
hey Crinkle please be careful on your bike lots of trails are very muddy/snowy and therefore VERY sensative right now. Where are you planning on riding ? this is the time of year mtn bikes do the most trail damage and we need all the image help we can get.

Aspen
looks like MJ or copper. actual destination is still TBD. we're tele'ing w/ some friends tomorrow... sorry, no loveland pass...

Doesn't Cows face soften up about 9:00 am this time of year? The southern exposure of the back bowls is about the only thing I really like about Vail. Hit it early before the hordes and then move to chair 10 after everything else is mush.Originally posted by jdabasin

you?
40 degrees in Summit today and cold on Sat - I'll wait for Sun to ski. PLUS I plan on being hungover due to some bad news at work today so fuck the shitty conditions in fucking CO.
I think I'm going mad.
yeah i know the damage that bikes can do when its early season and wet, but its nice to know that others are concerned about the trails. I usally dont ride mud anyway. I am riding this afternoon at Apex, heard that its dry.Originally posted by board

Apex is dry ??? lots of dark corners there. please post after your ride and give the updated report. I would be shocked if the Enchanted Forrest was rideable !
Also I was thinking Loveland Ski Area prolly not the pass
"Do the interns get Glocks ? "
probably not the enchanted forest but Apex will probably be good.

I'll be at WP/MJ riding park with jibij tomorrow.
I was up at Breck riding park yesterday and it was way slushy. They actually closed some features due to the slush level. The hits up there are HUGE. I did take all of the hits, but I didn't dare spin or flip the two larger ones. Maybe next time. BTW, there are some sick kids up there. I saw a switch corked 9 that just about made me cream my pants. Same with a huge Lincoln mute over the biggest table.
WP/MJ tomorrow. Was there on Tuesday and everything had pretty good coverage. It was fun messing around in the park once things softened up a little bit.
I ran Apex on Tuesday and it was pretty dry going up the front side. Some snowy spots on the loops up top but it hasn't snowed since....so should be pretty nice riding conditions this weekend.Originally posted by board

The weekend I'm not at MJ you guys decide to show up. Hmmm, you must be avoiding me and the candides. I'm riding the cube tomorrow, A-basin on sunday
.
if there is snow on the trail that means there is mud. doesn't sound like it should be ridden right now. keep in mind guy's Jeff Co has been reviewing trail use over the last 2 years and closures are not out of the question. Please be careful out there let's not give them a reason to restrict our usage. I would guess that Green Mtn and Matt winters are better bets than Apex right now.Originally posted by jdabasin

haven't ridden on green mt recently, but the lights are charged up for possible after work rides. preliminary recon (driving by on my way home, and walking the dog @ the dog park across the street) suggests that its nice and dry for the most part, with only small (if any) mud/snow patches up near the top. with all this sun and heat, its gotta be nice up there.
edit: just got the beta in real-time on matt winters - its dry with a few muddy spots and plenty of people riding. good to go there at least, and if its good there then green mt should be BUFF!

That sucks. A-basin is a boneyard go ski park at MJ instead.Originally posted by dbldmnd

BTW dbldmnd jr has been busy the past few weeks, he's been skiing away from back flips on some off-pist kickers they have built at MJ, but he hasn't taken them to the park yet. I think this is where I should be scared as a parent right ?![]()
dbld... that's cool that junior's already inverting, and yes, you should be scared.Originally posted by dbldmnd

where is this kicker you speak of??
i was there for a few hours today. it's getting realllllly thin. i can't believe that they're even running chair 9, but they are. lots of rocks and dirt poking out.Originally posted by board

That terrain park on Peak 8 is crazy huge, saw a great big air comp there a couple of years ago under the lights. Three skiers were removed on stretchers, very sobering. I like the one over on Peak 9, that's more my speed.Originally posted by meatdrink9

As for this weekend, looks like tommorow I'll be climbing in either Castlewood Canyon or Eldo. Sunday I'm going to a lovely brunch at 11am to say good bye to some dear friends moving to Pheonix.
There is a few of the around, but the couple he's been hitting are in the lower part of the chutes at MJ. There is usually a group down there hitting the kickers and gittin' sum.
