Raising enviromental awareness by taking 4 people and a bunch of camera gear into the wilderness.......kinda ironic.

Survivorman could do this all by himself with just a Leatherman and a toothbrush... in half the time.

If you look at the stats, mining's a bit of an angel these days. Especially when you look at their re-hab legislation/requirments. If you want some large scale massive polluters? try agriculture.

So 'biners are ok but bacon's out?

Oh dear. I've done something very bad here.

Here's how they plan to do that, this is from their website:

Gear→ Backpacking gear and alpine gear must be manufactured mostly from renweable synthetic materials, recycled petrochemicals, and upcycled metals. In cases where safety is a must or lack of availability of items, demo gear and used gear will be utilized.

That's brilliant, it's always a good idea to depend on used and abused gear when your life may be on the line.

Who supplies the Camera Gear? What format? Is the videographer required to carry ALL their gear PLUS food/clothing/etc.? What are the Camera requirements? Is shooting everything hand-held OK, or do they need to schlep a Tripod?

My "camera only" gear - Camera, tripod, batteries, cables, microphones, charger, & Headphones weighs in at over 60 lbs. If you want to add a lighting kit increase that by 20lbs.

This is a job for someone with Prosumer gear.

I looked at the site and thought the same thing- 30% of the travel is supposed to be on public transportation or self propelled and they don't mention anything about having a PA or any extra crew, so I guess they expect the video and still guys to carry all of their camera gear, tape stock, batteries, chargers, lighting, a laptop, food, clothing, tent, sleeping bag, etc., plus they plan to summit Danali. It sounds a little optimistic to me. They say the videographer needs to be knowledgeable in the use of Canon and Sony cameras but they don't mention much about format or anything, except they keep talking about "filming" the trip, when it's obviously a video project.
This could be a really cool trip or it could be a total nightmare clusterfuck.
