    Mount Gotamas on FR Line!

I've been skiing my Gotamas all season mounted on the middle mark of the 7 drawn on the sidewall. In pow I've been finding the skis way to hooky when keeping the weight forward and have to sit back all the time.
Yesterday after skiing an epic day at Blackcomb with up to 30 cents fresh I got fed up and got them remounted on the very first mark.

    SO MUCH BETTER!!

Today I felt like I could charge way harder and ski faster and stay forward over the front and pressure the tongues like your supposed to ski instead of skiing from the back of the boot. The tips stayed up as opposed to diving under the snow and were way less hooky. I still had some hooky turns when weighted forward which just reaffirmed my decision to go with something like a XXL for next year but was way better compared to the previous position.

When I first got the Gots and tried to figure out the mounting position I compared to all other comparable skis and their ranges(Blowers, Vicious, etc) and found all others to be forward of where the Gotama range is so I thought in the middle might be ok. Don't make the same mistake.

MOUNT THEM ON THE FR MARK!!

    Background:
190 length in this years Got
Skied last years as well(sold them before i checked where they were mounted)
    195 lbs
    6'1"
    ex-racer

I'm glad I decided to try the change for my last day of the season to figure out once and for all.

    Now I'm going surfing!!

And thanks to postman, rugbydave, atrain, powder, bigtrubs, and others for showing me a great time around WB over the last four weeks.

We'll all meet up for a surf soon!

Agreed, got mine mounted back of the line for the last 20 pow days of the season and am happier. Still, I can't seem to flex them enough to really keep afloat while skiing proper. I love 'em for crud and anything less than 6, but would like something wider/softer for any more.

How a ski planes up on snow and floats has alot to do with the ski sidecut (taper) and the flex pattern. It's tough to compare between different models......

I mounted mine 1cm behind the fr line much happier than on the line on last years.
