TR: Disease Ridge, Corona on Blackcomb. Pow11 is back

Toby skied his first bc runs after having an unfortunate accident with his neck about 6 weeks ago. Went to Disease Ridge first where one sweet turn led to about a 1000 feet of bullet proof ice. Sketchiest run of the year for me. Next went to Corona where the snow was buttery smooth.

    Disease Ridge

After this turn it went to bullet proof ice. Just concentrated on making the next turn.

Nice tracks on the Spearhead Glacier

My lone track on upper Corona

    Toby getting some

All in all another good day. Can't wait for the storm thats going to hopefully hit us on Fri/Sat

    Beauty!

    Is this inbounds?
Fighting leads to killing, and killing gets to warring. And that was damn near the death of us all.

disease?? spankys/chainsaw/etc have been closed for three days because of ice.. what were you guys thinking it would be like? corona was nice though. nearly watched someone die today, we were in lower poop shoots and saw some dude riding down sapphire but skiers right of the sapphire chutes straight towards those big 100 foot cliffs. he figured it out about ten feet from the edge, good thing he was able to stop. then he just laid in the snow for a while, probably shit himself a couple times. patrol eventually showed up and helped him down. darwin nearly got one!

    edit: oops forgot, nice toby

spankys and chainsaw also got skied for 3 days in the 10 degree heat. disease ridge didn't and as a result we figured it might be smooth enough to hold pow. pow11 had better luck in the top half than i did as he took away all the snow

Hell yeah toby. Nice to see you ripping again, and good running into you the other day.

Phil, your photos look way better after that thread. A lot crisper.

Looks like you made some nice turns despite the ice.

baby steps, baby steps... I had to ski cut the wind drift at the entrance to have something soft to ride down the sheet of ice on.

what a day! its always tough to overcome injuries from a pyschological pov and Im glad phil had the patience to wait for me all day. I got a bit gripped at the top of disease ridge, but it was a nice victory for me to push myself into it. corona felt like the best run of my life even though we were skiing 2 inches of dust on sheer ice. thanks for the encouraging words

I don't about y'all, but when I try to guess where someone would be 6 weeks after breaking their neck, this is what I imagine:

I wanna come play!!! I had myself convinced that I was over skiing, but then I saw these photos. I suppose I can bear the pain of my ski boots for some more days. I could tour mon or tues if you guys are going.
    Believe.
