    Darfur on Google Earth

Scary stuff, someone out to tell those poor bastards to dig holes in the ground and pour oil in them so maybe we'll take notice.

Edit: The rings are where the houses used to be.

Google Earth is a program you have to download and install from google:

Here's a blurb on the darfur project:

I expect there will be some stories in the newspapers about this tomorrow. Its pretty thought-provoking.

They are, but "we can't be the world's policeman", right?

I say fuck that! We are the 800lb gorilla on this rock. We have the power to stop that, but we are more concerned that people might call us names than we are about the human lives beign snuffed out as we watch.

    Oh! this pisses me off!

We get all bent because some guy on the radio called a ball team "nappy headed hoes", yet entire bloodlines are being wiped out and we don't seem to care. Why isn't this making the headlines every night? Where is the outrage? What's wrong with this picture?!?

Ever read "Love Thy Neighbor" by Peter Maass ? Its the story of the war in Bosnia and Hercegovina ... pretty grim reading and guaranteed to piss you off.

I bet the same political games are going on right now in Darfur...

Hey, don't sweat it. Hollywood will be right on it. They did a great job on Hotel Rwanda. Now everyone knows what happened there 10 years + after the fact.
"A lot o' people don't realize what's really going on. They view life as a bunch o' unconnected incidents 'n things. They don't realize that there's this, like, lattice o' coincidence that lays on top o' everything."

No I haven't read it. I'll have to check it out though because there isn't enough in the world already that pisses me off.

    Thanks for the recommendation.
