Surf's up! Hope you all got some

WOW now that was fun. Just got in from a sunset session of easily 7-9ft here in So. OC. Only 4 guys out and plenty of waves to go around. Loooong walls lined up. Soooo stoked!

Almost as good as a deeep pow day. Only difference for me are those little nerves going "watch out for the close out set outside!"

Tomorrow morning should be fun. So. Cal. not so bad right now...

Bo. is doing well; this evening was the best session of the past eight days of effort. I was in the water from 6-dark scoring nice loong cruisey rides. It was, however, the most crowded it's been in the past 8 days. Gee, I think we've got some people with their eyes on this swell.

I'm thinking maybe a dawn patrol followed by drive to KW for an afternoon pow session. I've only skied and surfed in the same day once before... am I up for the challenge? Dun dun DUNNNNN!

It's either 6-8 or 8-10.

Ok, in the Comish world of highly subjective surf measurement, How about well overhead.

Prolly not quite 10' but certainly some sets bigger than 8'

Sounds like 7 - 9 to me

Oh ya, 3 guys out yesterday morning and last night only about 6. Looks like no one out at the moment. Lotta water with high tide though...

man it's hard to motivate when it's pissing rain and cold out and the wetsuit's still damp, but I'm pretty sure I made the right choice not going to KW last night.

Ahh, surfing is pretty dang fun!!! Still solidly OH this morning. Wind came up early, prolly around 8am, but it was sunny and the water was surprisingly warm. Only caught 4 waves before getting cleaned up by a macking set. Passed a friend as I'm walking back to the house who asked if I was on spring break of something. If only, I had 5 minutes until my 9am conference call at that point. Still OH surf is not a bad way to start the morning. Sitting on the phone while staring out at the churning sea doesn't suck either.

JBO'D, you change your cell phone number? I sent you a text yesterday morning, you get that?

P.s. my first surf day of the season was officially over before it started. I parked, got dressed, walked to the beach with surf board underarm, stood there in awe until i decided it was time to leave before i did something stupid like get in. yep, it was awesome!!!

Actually this was probably pretty smart. It is pretty rough out there, but damn fun.

Yup,

2 people got swept off the Jetty while fishing. High surf = don't be on the Jetty.

Didn't get your text until now. Try La Tiendita on Ave Victoria, it's one block south from Del Mar St, Just off El Camino Real. Also, be sure to stop by the fisherman's on the Pier and have few "Cottons" for me.

The point to 38th was doing it's best J-bay impersonation today. Amazing. Top ten days at the point for me today. Fack. I still can't get over how good it was. Stand up barrels every set and barrels on every inside wave as well. So many waves too. I really didn't stop paddling for the 2 hours I was out. Donging.

Alka- If this flu doesn't send me to Kirkweed for treatment this Thursday, I will probably head down Steamer Lame. Then again I haven't surfed Pleasure Point but if it's like JBay then I might check that out.

Hmm, maybe I'll make the drive down there and add another kook to the lineup.

Edit: or just take pics from the bluffs as I'm probably not man enough to deal with the psycho locals, nevermind OH barrels.

Mark one up for being worked at C Street yesterday. I learned a few things about this new to me sport of surfing: 1) I cannot duck dive worth shit 2) I'm not even close to being in good shape 3) Holy shit you can go fast on a surf board.

I have a new found respect for larger waves and folks out there killing it. I've been surfing now for 8 months, just bought my first short board and was thinking I was getting good.... not even close.

Surfed twice today after Pu's call. Fun. But not nearly as sick as yesterday. No barrels really today. Well a couple but didn't come screaming out of overhead pits quite like yesterday. More like pull in an get pinched or closed out. But there were some fun walls with multiple hits, off the lips and turns to be had. But again nothing like yesterday.

1st peak noon sesh and 1st peak to 38th afternoon sesh. Everyother pro and their moms were out today.
