Yet Another Stevens Pass TR (4/10/07)

What can you say about a day like this in April? Uhhh, it snowed last night?

Lots of the exposed ridges had obviously visible refrozen slush that was pretty scoured. Some places had some crunchy stuff cleverly hidden under an inch or two of fresh. Still, if you looked, there was some sweet, sweet snow to be had...

Seventh Heaven was a good place to be. Like a really, really good place to be...

A nice shallow powder field after the little traverse.

    Off Southern Cross.

    Back on the front side...

This one is for Marshal, who is a bad, bad, bad man...

We kept our eyes out for bright green boots and squads, but there were none to be found... Phill?????? Are you there Phill????????????

Spindrift has forbidden me from making any snarky comments about his new 138's...

    sweet pics, though.

snow looks tads better than what we had in Colo the last 5 days, but I ain't complaining. i do wish i'd had my Spats on at least 2 of the days, but the pinner (94mm) King Salmons held up under the variable conditions.

anyway, glad to see other folks out in April tearing it up with smiles on their faces and funky skis under their knees.

No. We settled for some fresh tracks through the glades though... We did come out in the lower part of the bowl & it was mighty nice & still fresh.

After a couple backside laps, the group vote was that the snow off 7th had been better than the backside so we went back and hit that a bunch of times.

philllllll was rolling with uncle dash today. i'll keep my eye out for a bright red coat with huge skis riding the backseat next time i'm in bounds.

edit: and seventh did have the best snow today, but long strung together untracked backside runs were pretty good too.

I saw someone with Lotus 138's off the Southern Cross. I don't recall the jacket color though. You definitely had to pay attention to the snow, 'cause there was some nice hard refrozen gunk in places. Stevens would have been a $$$$ day if not for the refrozen spots. Instead I give it $$$ day.

yummy. I like the 7th heaven area. It seems to have the best snow each time I've visited there.

Phill was there skiing with z-bo all morning(9-12), Mostly stayed on the back though, sooooooooo nice. Then was Mia from 12:00-3:50 for some ultra secret, too embarassing, and shameful to post on TGR thingy.

Was it worse than skiing in the backseat? Perhaps spending the afternoon on Daisy? Or maybe spending the afternoon on Daisy on blades? Inquiring minds want to know. Nay, demand to know... just exactly what were you doing?

OK, none of the online descramblers on the net got anywhere. So the cheap route didn't pay off. But when I looked at that list of letters, something jumped out at me. Please tell me you were not ski biking all afternoon...

    Did you pass?

Should the discussion move to that other place?

    Oh, assuming you passed, congrats!
