    Auto-Mags - Non-Reading Temp. Guage

I actually have 2 cars that have mis-reading temperature guages.

Car 1 is a 1995 Eagle Talon TSi AWD. The guage is always in the middle. Even from a dead cold start. The fan still fires up, and the car doesn't overheat. The guage will go up slightly from lower middle to dead middle once "warmed-up". The guage did work ONCE ver the winter, after the car sat in the garage for 3 weeks while I worked on it. It work as it was supposed to that first time I started it and drove it, but since then, it has not read correctly.

2nd car is a 1991 Toyota MR2 Turbo. Guage just doesn't go anywhere. It always stays at Cold. Another problem here is the radiator fan will not run when the car is stationary. When moving, the car stays cool.

Any auto-mags wanna take a guess as to what both cars major malfunction is?

Oh, sorry, thought tech. talk was for ski tech, didn't realize it was any tech.

Eh, Toyota I have no idea when the thermo was replaced. I've only owned the car since last July, and only drove it from july thru October. (it's my play car). I'll pull it out and check it though.

first try the connection. then if you have a fluke (sp?) meter, check the continuity of the connection. Get yourself a Chiltons repair manual for the car, better yet, a cd/dvd will be best.
