    CO front range singletrack?

Allright, I am going to be spending alot of time in D-town this summer for training and I'm trying to find some good singletrack rides around the area. I just need some suggestions. I am training pretty close to golden/boulder so this is where I'm looking. Looks like alot of boulder is "openspace no bikes". I am a pretty good climber and rider with full suspension cross-country bike so I just want some good cxc rides that I don't have to drive to far to get to. Lunchbreak! I will gladly return the favor for anyone looking for the same around Summit co.

There are a ton of trails in Golden (JeffCo Open Space vs. Boulder Open Space) (Apex, Dakota, Red Rock, Matthew Winters, White Ranch, the trails in Evergreen, Green Mtn, Mt. Falcon, Deer Creek, Waterton Canyon, etc..) Less so immediately close to Boulder, but there are great trails in Ned and Lyons and points in between.

    We will show you around.

You will find a good deal of rides in this area.

Boulder: Walker's Ranch, Betasso, Heil Ranch, Hall Ranch down in Lyons, and some other flatter trails. Head up to Nederland and find a bunch of trails.

Golden: White Ranch, Apex, Chimney Gulch, Centennial Cone, Dakota Ridge, Mt. Falcon, Mt. Green, I forgot some of the others.

    That should get you started.

There is a decent Front Range Guidebook, but I forget the author. You won't need it. The information for most trails are fairly accessible from us and MTBR. If you are going to be in Golden, most of the trails listed by fondigley and I are rideable from the town of Golden.

lots of rides up in the canyons of boulder--typically integrate some road/bike path travel but there is a good amount of dirt as well..
Betasso is a good ride from town and has a decent climb if you go up the link trail

In south boulder they have added a couple of sections to marshall mesa in the last year or so that have made that area more fun--you can head into eldo and into the park as well from there

Do yourself a favor and make a weekend trip down to crested butte in late june, everything is blooming, trails are pretty dry, and the rides are amazing.

If yer living in Summit CO, but driving down to Denver for training, your best best is goona be the Golden stuff. As mentioned: Apex, WR, DR/RR/MW. Its all quite close to I70 and fun.

I second all of the information above. If you are interested in guidebooks, check out:

Front Range Single Tracks: The Best Single-Track Trails Near Denver & Boulder (Paperback)
    by Tom Barnhart (Author)

It's a pretty skinny book with lot's of trails. It's available at REI and many bike shops. There are two editions, I think. MTBR.com also has a lot of trail descriptions as well.
