    Jeep Pics

    Updated pics of my Jeep.

Got it a little over a year ago.

Replaced the dash with a custom mahogany one. Made it myself with a pre-cut metal dash and mahogany veneer. Spar varnished it with 10 coats.

    Artsy pics-

Dog is my Co-Pilot, but he would rather be driving-

Yup- 35 X 13.5 Open Country MTs- best mud tire I have ever owned. Pretty sure I'll never buy anything else. Quiet as hell for how aggressive they are.

I know guys running these for 50,000 miles.

At that rate, they will dry rot off my truck before they ever hit the end of their tread life.

Thanks for the props everybody. Just felt I needed to take more pics of her.

The Toyo MT's are great tires.
I know guys running them on everything from daily drivers to dedicated trail rigs here in NE and they do everything well, and last forever, like you said.

also, they might get a little bit louder as they wear some, but nothing rediculous.

That is the first auto- truck or car- that I ever drove.

Same color scheme, Renegade, with a white hard top for the winter. My mom rolled it with dad in the passenger seat and my sister and I in the back. We flipped 4 times in the west Texas desert, down a hill, and landed finally upside down. Amazingly, we all survived. I was 8 years old at the time. Funny thing is, after the wreck, while we were upside down in the jeep, my dad got on the cb radio and managed to call for help. They winched the jeep right-side up and it started up just fine. We drove it to the next town and got lunch, with everyone staring at us driving this jeep because it was so f***ed up and looked like it shouldn't have been on the road. Thanks for the memories.

    Nice Jeep.

my 315's are wearing pretty quickly. have about 10k on them and they are showing there wear fast. they have a tendency to throw weights VERY quickly, so make sure you get them checked every 2000 or so miles.

    Nice Jeep.
This was my first ride in high school. A little similar to the one I have now, don't you think?

I love the 70s rainbow-brown theme. I was in Moab last week and it just so happened to be Jeep Safari; I saw a few nice renegades that were restored. Yours is a fine example.

Baby needs a new pair of shoes.

Today was one of those days I realized the most important things in my life are no longer mechanical…………I built this thing from the frame up and as of today she is in the hands of another man.

1982 Jeep Scrambler - It originally came from Jackson after a long ski vaca in stock form complete with an “iron duke”. ~4500 miles since a frame up restoration.

1968 large journal 327 c.i. .040” over with alum. Edelbrock heads, Torquer II intake, matching cam and Truck Avenger 670 carb with electric choke and roller rockers. An external oil cooler was added (not a very good mod IMO) and M.O.R.E “bomb proof” motor mounts held it in place.

The body and frame were media blasted and treated with POR-15 rust prevention system. Full steel body painted BMW “Canyon Red”. Herculiner was applied on the interior. The frame had been fully welded including additional boxing and reinforcement.

A Dana 44 with an ARB air locker sits in the front (with Dodge ¾ hubs and brakes to maintain Jeep/Ford bolt pattern) and a Ford 9” with a Warn full floating kit and ARB air locker hangs out back. The tranny is a SM 465 (with granny low) and a NP 205 splits the power. Both have Warn “Premium” hubs. The ring and pinion are at 4.11. The driveshafts are Tom Woods with sealed long travel yokes and CV joints. The tires are Super Swamper 34” x 9.5” on “Street Lock” wheels.

The suspension is a spring-over with Wrangler width springs (custom by Alcon and provides about 4” of lift) and a MORE shackle reversal up front. Long travel Rancho 9000s with in cab adjustment do the dampening. The steering is handled by a 1 ton high cross over tie rod and drag link with an ARG steering box (variable proportion) and pump.

The other do dads included; VDO gauges, Be Cool 3 core High Flow alum. Radiator, Premier Power Welder 160 amp alternator, dual Optimum Red Top batteries with in cab switching. The front and rear bumpers act as the air tank for the ARBs compressed by a Quick Time 2.

    She's in good hands.
