    SUMMER SUMMIT 07', OFFICIAL THREAD

So, I am proposing the official bike-debauchery-hell on wheels-dirt jump building, trail digging, pump track scheming, and barley-pop devastation summit for here in Teton valley, first week of August.

    Who is IN?

So, after reading the 'projects' thread, is anyone up for an absurd tour of the Big Holes, say, 40+ miles, upwards of 7 hours? (trust me, that is QUICK for forty big Hole miles!)

Or should we stick to multiple 3-5 hour jaunts, or shuttle, or what?

    All of it?

I would be interested in a 7 hour sufferfest, but I like to hurt myself.

Sounds like fun, if it was mid-August I could probably pull it but I plan to be hiking first week of August.

    Sufferfest is a fun word.

If I'm successful in snagging this job in Jackson, I'm in.

(regarding the pinnacle suggestion) We have just as much great riding, if not more, right here in the Big Holes/western slope...Probably focus on local, takes less time to get 'home' to the hot tub, BBQ, and beer!

I like the part about debauchery, hoppyness and riding, and I really enjoy trail building, but... it's a long way to drive to build trail I'd only rarely get to see.

    Selfish git.

It's NOT a long way to hang out with friends that you rarely see, fucker.

(trail building will only be the most minor part, if any part, of the equation)

In other news, Bart officially hates me lately. Oh, well.

I'm down for a sufferfest, but I'll need to rent a bag from AKPM to carry all the food I'd be dreaming about

I'd consider dropping down to meet and ride with some of the pedal turning mags. Put me in the maybe, possible, and probable columns.

I'm there. I'd be up for a sufferfest ride provided there's a riding-oriented point to the sufferfest... i.e. long carvy or techie descents, the kind that make you scream out loud because it's so fun.

Also, something to think about regarding a sufferfest ride:

For almost every normal, sane rider I know, a long 7-8 hour day requires a few days off the bike afterward.

So for a multi-day riding summit, don't make the sufferfest on any day but the absolute last for the majority of people attending. On the 2 days after a suffer-fest, with the full cardio-vascular-musculo-skeletal beatdown it's a lot easier to drive than it is to try to do another 4 hour ride.

    rideit, are dogs welcome?

Dogs are not only welcome, but encouraged (not on the big rides or DH shuttles, tho')

Edit: I have a pretty large, perfectly fenced yard for the pooches. We just have to share 'fling' duty.
Can accomodate up to ten pooches, I reckon'.

Bring your prozac, and no politics!

And yes, the 'Big Ride' will be on the last day, of course.
