What if that was the truth? Believe it or not, some skis are built with defects and DO just fall apart from normal wear and tear.

walmart skis don't count.

most skis that break, delam, blow sidewalls, bend are caused by hard aggressive skiing ...and generally a fuck up in your skiing whether it be a bad landing or just the wrong line and you tweak the ski. you can't expect skis to last when they are beat to shit day after day...if you do you have warped sense of reality.

Maybe spread your feet wider ... all that banging may be due to keeping both feet together whilst turning ...

2. Return the skis to the shop ASAP. Don't continue to ski the skis. You'll risk making the damage look like something it isn't...I suspect this may have been a factor in Twister's case.

I didn't follow this advice once and I should have. I was very careful to let both my shop and Volkl know about the initial damage and it still almost bit me in the ass thanks to an incompetent shop monkey at the end of the season.

Volkl was awesome through the whole process.

Call me a goodie two shoes, but does such blatant ass-kissing really get you far? I just cant bring myself to that level. Which is probably why Im a minion and not an entrepreneur...

I've had volkl hook me up as well. Sent used ski once to replace a set of delammed 3+ y/o explosiv and recently a new set of 190 Katanas after exploding the fahk out of one. Typically they send a used ski if the damage is your fault or if the ski is out of warranty. If you delam a current year model ski they send new ones-at least in my experience.

Hopefully customer service stays kind since it seems that Volkls are not what they used to be since being acquired by K2 and getting pressed in China...doh!
