    Screw Volkl

So as much as I like Volkl and their new line, nearly the entire line, I will never buy them again!

I had thought that they were a pretty good company and had good values to become the ski company that they are, but I delamed my Karma's in the middle of the season and sent them in for warranty with out even an entire season on them. The tip delamed 9 1/2 inched, which could have been prevented from getting so big if I hadn't skied the last 2 runs of the day at Mary Jane, but the conditions were too good to stop that early (when I noticed the split it was about 5-6 inches already!).

The end of the day came and I went back to the shop to send them in for warranty, looking forward to getting this problem fixed and to be able to ski hard again. When I got the new ski back it was not only a different used ski (not always a problem unless its in worse shape!), different #- no problem, different whole mounts- I can get over it, shots out of the bottom from the previous user- I could fix it but getting angry, the edge split under foot- unacceptable! This ski was messed up more then if I had just put rivets through my origional ski!

This was not cool, and tried to contact them again, wrote Volkl USA an email, no response so I sent another, nothing again. I contacted the Boulder rep and talked to him once, left two other messages afterward to try and get this cleared up, but no response! Volkl totally screwed me! I was not happy with the company and they knew that when I tried to talk with them but not overly excessive by any means because I wanted something to ride on.

Trying to get over it but still ski and save as much as I can to get another pair of skis (but definatly NOT Volkl), I was riding my returned pair. Unfortunatly first run of the day first day back on these damn things I rip the binding right off the ski and realize shortly after the core of the ski is completly shot! No grip to keep my binding in at all. So I try to go through this stupid process again and go to the shop and send in my skis to see what they can do by the shops policy. I get the big FU back from them saying there not going to do anything.

So I liked riding their skis (I owned the Karmas but tried the Dogen through the Gotama). But I got the worst customer service I have ever had and will never buy them again, and I hope you take cus service into consideration when looking at skis cause if anything happens to your sticks your gonna want them back to ride again.

All I gotta say is SCREW YOU VOLKL I will talk you down for the rest of my days!

My only dealing with the Volkl warranty dept was very positive.

Why don't you try pming squaretail and see if he can help you and be polite or he'll kick your ass.

I've also had good experiences with AKA's mom and girlfriend.

Seriously, though- one cracked sidewall = replaced, no questions asked; one binding ripped out of the topsheet = replaced, no questions asked.

Thanks for the warning -- strange though as I've heard from most on the board that thier warranty department has always been quite good.

I was actually referring on the (hoped) outcome... Guess I didn't articulate it that well...

I guess Im glad to hear some people have had good experiences with them but I got bent over, dont have a pair to ride for the rest of the season, and just trying to warn the rest of the people that do care, other then the ones that just like to rip on others

I'd say you aren't talking with the right folks. Maybe they made a mistake in shipping the skis back. Happened to me once with a fly rod warranty. Keep trying, and good luck..

Probably they didn't hook you with the sweet warranty treatment cause your emails all made you sound like an ignorant douche.

I've skied volkl for years, and I am hard on all of my equipement, and I have found them to hold up well. I'm wondering how a 6" delam could happen to your ski before you even noticed? Try using honey not vinegar with the customer service dept.

I had a very good experience with Volkl.
Bent a ski, removed binders and sent the pair back. They sent a brand new pair out to me and I think they arrived within a couple weeks or less.

I agree with this. Keep trying. The whole thing doesnt make sense.

Ive never heard of a company sending back a used piece of equipment to replace a broken one--has anyone else?!? Just weird, man. You sure the kiddies at the shop didnt full a fast one on you?
