Really? Do you have any primary sources? I'm not aware of any studies that could conclusively demonstrate positive or negative effects of rHGH on human athletic performance. It probably doesn't have much of a benefit, although it may have some utility in events like body building (not much of a sport).
I'm guessing that dosing is problematic since endogenous (natural) GH is released in a pulsitile fashion from the pituitary- i.e., we're not physiologically meant to deal with chronic exposure or elevated levels of this stuff, which is what those athletes are suposedly exposing themselves to.
