    Changing shells w/ Surefoot liners

I have some weird feet and I'm considering plunking down the $$$ for Surefoot liners. My Technica Diablo shells have about 50% life left in them - enough that I don't really want to get a new pair yet, but am afraid that they'll wear out long before the new liners do. So...

How well do the old liners go in new shells when the time comes? Do they need to be pretty much identical shells as the old pair?

I read some threads mentioning other mags using shells with multiple boots (Marshalson?), but I'm curious about how it'll limit my choice of shells in the future.

should be fine, as long as the new shells are about the same size and shape (as in your current ones are not too big or wide).

your feet will still be the same with the new boots, just the shell is a bit different.

sometimes it is not much more to buy new shells and liners at the same time too.

I'd beware, I worked under the assumption that my B2 Bandit Rossi shells would be the same enough to the newer B14, etc shells for my foamies. Nope. The new shells have a curve on top of the foot not there in the old ones, thus there's a crazy pressure point. Anyway, may technicas don't change so much. but if I were you and I was doing it again, I'd get some new shells so I didn't run into a situation down the road of having to hunt for a shell that hasn't been made in 4 years, like what I'm doing now.

Just go with zipfits or intuitions. That way you wont have to worry about changing shells. Just recook and youre set.

I'd be reluctant to re-use foam injected liners in new shells since the liners are going to form to every nook and cranny of the boot. The new shells won't be the same and therefore all the great fitting stuff will be out the window. If you need new liners, get intuitions, have Surefoot make you some footbeds and they should include the cost of cooking and fitting the intuitions when they charge you for the footbeds.
