No amount of snow will save tuckerman right now. Lowest snows I've seen in ten years. Did it soften up for ya?

yes indeed. Saturday was solid ice on Hillmans. Sunday the bowl was extremely soft, just like it usually is, at least on the right side. snow is mainly needed on sherbie right now. woefully bare.

Question, I'm coming home to the east for a few weeks in late April and was thinking about bringing my gear home with me to ski Tuck's. Think it's worth the luggage or would it be a waste of my time?

Dunno if it's worth it, with the low snow this year.

Yeah I was leaning toward no because I really haven't paid much attention to the the Washington Snow levels, but obviously they're low like everywhere else. I'll probably save myself some hassle and leave the sticks out here. Thanks.

Bring your junk there will be snow but you may not be able to ski back to your car.
People should learn endurance; they should learn to endure the discomforts of heat and cold, hunger and thirst; they should learn to be patient when receiving abuse and scorn; for it is the practice of endurance that quenches the fire of worldly passions which is burning up their bodies.

Wait to check recent photos on www.tuckerman.org prior to your departure and check recent trip reports on timefortuckerman.com. Snow levels this year are downright scary, but good chance it still may be worth the trek in late April. If the weather cooperates ("if") always a sick time. I'm shooting for 4/14 weather permitting.

    HOLY CRAP

    20" overnight

Just got back from ripping the river. Got kinda mashed taters by the afternoon but 5th chair can't complain. Also, they held jordan and aurora in reserve for tomorrow...

Wildcat was pretty ass-kicking today also. Kicked my ass anyway.

Thanks for all the input. I'll probably decide last minute. Heading to the Tahoe area for a few weeks then flying home so I'll have my gear with me anyway. I figure 2 weeks back home I'll be tweaking to do something so even just hiking/skinning around in crud is better than sitting around. Plus it's not like I haven't been skiing crud here lately anyway. The rock skis are a must though.
