    Boulder CO

Alright a buddy of mine already in CO told me to check out this site an i gotta say it seems pretty sweet. Im headin out to CU at boulder next year an when i visited i went skiing at winter park. Course when i compare that to what we got here in VT is was pretty goddamn incredible, but the long ride was a bit of a bummer. I just remember that there was another smaller mtn closer by an i was wondering if anyone here knew what it was called so i could look into what they have there, if they have a website or anything i could check out. Cant wait to get out into that pow pow, thanks for any help.

A.) its called CU Boulder, not UC

B.) The close small mountain is called Eldora, they have some good days each year...usually early season before the base becomes windswepts blue ice. Get a pass there cause its cheap, but also get a pass for Copper/WP or a 5-Mtn Pass (or all 3 if you a baller)

    Opps, yeah....get a loveland pass.

    will you have a car?

even if your parents don't want you do get a car make friends with some other dedicated skiers and buy a beater car.

One of my friends had a 300 dollar buick wagon and skied 70 days with it his freshmen year......tire chains are a beautiful thing.

Eldora doesn't blow. Eldora CAN blow. But for a small mt, if you catch it on the right day it can be pretty fucking sweet. And there's a LOT to be said for avoiding I-70.

That having been said, I don't really ski Eldora.

    Exclamation

Eldora sucks so much, that the word "suck" can't even quantify how sucky it really is. Infact, I think the new word for something that sucks so incredibly much should be "eldora."

Used in a sentence, "marker bindings are so eldora."

    That's nice. I like it.
    Drive slow, homie.

dont knock it that hard, im a CU student and when i have class at noon its nice to go up in the morning and get some turns for a quick half day, u dont wait in a lift line and even though they dont get dumped on as much, when they do its pretty nice.

but like danno i dont ski there that much either. like 10 days/year

when the monster storm hit here in december, i had a 20+ day at eldora.

that's the only day I had there this year. but labelle works there, and she's had some sweet pow days this year. or at least that's what she's always claiming.

oh yeah..... 7 years in boulder (BA, BS, MA)

1 day at eldora (to try out tele)

even back in the 90's when you could get a pass + the bus back & forth for like $225 for the season, nobody went there.

that being said, any ski area (eldora, echo mtn, the new coors place by idaho springs) that keeps folks off I-70 is ok with me.

yeah, and I grew up out EAST too....

Eldora is still better than most resorts out east, and it is nice to get to early in the AM before work/school....

personally, I like Eldora better than Winter Park....that place is BS....

The only place that sucks worse than Eldora is Loveland. Don't ever go there. It's flat and lame and makes you think you are better than you really are. Or something like that...
