    Cool 2007 Summit Picture Thread

With enough Maggots at Silverton to properly destroy that place, I was hoping to see some pix. Post em’ up if you got em!

Here are a few from Silverton and the Telluride “Yurt Hut” trip. Mad props to Buster for the day at Silverton and reidhresko for setting up the “Luxury Powder”, pimpin’ out the digs, blazing trail, playing tour guide and chauffeur! Good times.

Sorry if I didn’t catch all the names…..

    Day One - Silverton

The point headed up to the Billboard

    Almost there

Looking up dope-da-rope (or something like that)

Deep Days headed toward the apron (polly had the best snow on the hill!)

Maggot having some fun on Billboard

    Deep Days not being Goseyed….

    Spdfrk43 getting’ some

Day two - Alta Lakes Observatory

    With ½ barrel in tow

A little stoked with beers in hand

When we arrived it was dumping……..

………time to slay pow! marshal with a little base issue (as in the whole thing came off when he removed his skin. It was a blem that was fixed, but obviously was beyond fixing)

    One ski faceshot

    Moooorrrreeeee POW!

    marshal still found some air

    Yup, those are ours

    Still time for another lap

    Sunsets are purdy

The “yurt” came with many creature comforts

Beer time. I crashed , but things got good and sloppy………Jim, the owner of the yurt had no idea what hit him.

    Pic belongs in another thread

Day Three - Alta Lake Continues

    Morning

Hard to beat the views from the shitter

I said this place was PIMP!

    Cool

    Time for a little tour

    Up and up

    Alta 2 = Douched

By the time we realized reid’s helmet cam wasn’t working I only had time to catch part of marshal’s line, but you’ll get the idea.

Looking for the speed limit on 183 Goats

    Another lap

Puma chute before being tagged by reid, marshal and the VT boyz (sorry no action shots)

    Blower in April

marshal can’t pass up a booter

    Day Four - Telluride Backcountry

Telluride with $39 lift tickets! No rhyme or reason, just as long as you have a pass to another mountain, or not

You know it’s going to be a fun day when only your friends are on the lift

Sorry for the lack of action shots going down Nellies (I think). I was dealing with my first reverse camber and sidecut ski, and needless to say, I pretty much flailed down the entire thing.

gearjunkie1 made the trip from Rifle to hike up out of our run (background)

All and all a FKNA trip! Thanks again to everyone for making it happen. It was really nice to put some faces with the names!

Nice shots, P4B. Even though that was a NEAR-Gosey, not totally a NON-Gosey.

I've got a BUNCH of pictures to sort through. I must have shot at least 50 or 60 at Silverton alone, but I still have no internet (or even a computer). I'll try to upload from the library this week.

Judging from the snow on Friday at Telluride, my guess is that you guys had a stupid amount of fun at Alta Lakes. Good on ya!

Very much fun at Silverton. Great day.

Not to mention that I love this picture:

Cool Mags abound - Some Pics from the Silverton Summit day

Fun was had! Peoples was gooood! Smiley teeth were at a high. Malted beverages were consumed. I kicked my ass (multiple days in a row).

HUDGE KUDOS to our host Arron and most gracious hostess Jen and all thier staff. Thanks!!! You all are the greatest!

As always, it's fun to hook up and meet, and put actual names and faces to, our bretheren and sisteren of the wacky world of Maggotdom. You are all a great crowd, and you too

A small sample of evidence follows

The "main" maggot group droping into Dope (?) on the first run.

Snowfire & GFPs pal John (Liz- let me know if I got these names wrong) hooking into the straightline in Wet Spot.

GFP and Snowfire waiting thier turn. Strange yet funny wimpering noises kept coming from Snowfires general area while she watched others ahead of her ...

...and finally she got into the Wet Spot.

My pal and part time lurker and tele rep in our group, tele-P-dude.

GFP coming out of the straightline trying to dump some speed. He can inform you about his speed dumping technique which happened immediately after this shot was captured.

...and then I put the camera away... cuz I was busy playin the rest of the day.

But I did get one of the playground the next day from up on Red #3. (West side)

I suggest maggots/ettes do this Silverton gathering more often... much more often.

A big thanks to reidhresko for setting up the huts, a big thanks to Buster for setting up the day at Silverton, and big thanks to all the mags and non-mags who showed up. It was great meeting, drinking and skiing with everyone.

Excellent! I've camped and hiked the Alta Lakes area in the summer, looks absolutely killer in the winter.

Sooooooo.... Was that a Maggot mobile (dark toyota w/ topper) that was saved by the "lone tree" on the curve that kept it from going over the edge and ending up in the creek??? (Apres-apres-ski thurs).

Close call and it looked like they had to stop and clean out the shorts a few curves later...

    Inquiring minds want to know.

Rightly seconded, but an additional big thanks to you, spkfrk and steve, gearjunkie, and Summit for my lodging for the week. You rule. All of you.

I skied some interesting lines at Silverton--some stuff I don't normally get to do. I think I even skied my first "coulior", and it was freakin' sweet. Hot DAMN what a fun time I had this week.

I will reiterate that reidhresko sounded to be working his freakin' ass off to get a working plan for the weekend. That dude's got some organizational skills and a high regard for his fellow schralpers, judging from the amount of time I could hear him planning the expedition. Right on, sir. (Kinda glad I dropped out last minute--wouldn't have been able to keep up with you guys possibly on the downhill but definitely on the up. Thanks for the option anyway!)
