Friday night’s storm (read : mini-storm) was suppose to put down 10 - 25cm according to sno4kast.
Reviewing the radar archive indicated some small but powerful cells along the CH/FR border.
We saw nothing on the trees on the drive up! Arrived at base-area parking and found 2cms…maybe.
On the lifts up we noticed the southern exposures were all wind-scoured. Where did the precip go?
At the top of la Pointe de l'Au we found the pow ended up on the N & NE faces.
Rewarded with over-the-boot blower and great lines all day for a short walk up and 15-20 min skin out.
I got the 1st & 2nd lines into that big back bowl. 2nd descent.
the run-out at the end of the day. few lines = not much competition.
ok, skins on & the last hike out.
Thanks to LZA for holding the camera.
Possible season closer 4 me at PDS-CH.
W/ daytime freezing levels popping up to 2300 by Weds, PDS-CH should be kentucky-fried by Easter weekend.
