Where in Wisconsin? I'm over in Minneapolis and usually hit up my hometown hole in Sauk Rapids, MN on the Mississippi. Don't own a kayak (yet). Check out www.rapidsriders.net for some good information.

I live in WI. I've paddled in the backwaters of the Mississippi River. Great Place. The Lower WI River is nice I've been told. I'll canoe the Peshtigo River near my cottage and when I feel adventurous I'll get a raft and do some whitewater rafting.

Wausau has a good paddling scene. Northern WI along the Wisconsin river probably would have some goods along with some of the tributaries. The Prarie River that runs through Merrill, from what I remember has some small rapids. The Fox River Valley is proposing a whitewater park. At least I read something about it in the paper when I was home over the holidays.

I have paddled the Lower Wisconsin. It is very nice. A good starting place is Prairie Du Sac.

This last weekend we went to the Horicon Marsh, nice place to paddle also. Lots of wildlife.

    The Mississippi sounds fun!

I've canoed the upper WI River near Tomahawk before when I was in college. I like to toss in the canoe and travel rivers through the nat'l forest and county land. Can be exciting at times because you never know what is around the bend. Smoothe river, shallow riffle, or obstruction, or rapids.
