    Paging Dave Matthews Band Fans

I’m going to order tickets for the DMB show at the Gorge Amphitheatre in George Washington for the beginning of September. I hear it’s an amazing venue and now I live so close I have to go. However, I need some advice.

Has anyone been? Should I get tickets for the whole weekend or just one evening. I guess they play 3 different shows over the course of the weekend.

    Any advice would be great.

My advice is to get in your jetta with as many of your girlfriends as you can gather and a case of wine coolers and just let loose. Maybe even not call your mom at midnight to tell her everything's okay.

If you're going up there, you may as well get tickets for a couple nights' shows.... my friend saw him there 3-4 yrs ago and said its an amazing venue. From what I hear, its almost as good as Red Rocks.

Stay for the whole weekend. Bring camping shit and a bunch of beer.

The gorge is amazing and it's a good time, I went to five or six of them when I was in high school/college.

Camping will have to be the way to go because I've got a few trip I'm budgeting for. Crazy enough this will be my 14th DMB show ... ya I'm not much of a fan.

The Gorge is an amazing venue. I've been going to various shows there for the last 10 years. Camping is the best plan for sure. I've heard they have cracked down on the partying (I live 45 min. away now). It's almost a mile walk in from the camping area so prepare for that. But holy shit, when that sun starts to set, TOOL (oops, DMB) takes the stage and the drugs kick in........

The all night parties aren't too shabby either.

I have to admit, I used to be a DMB fan. But this girl I was after wouldn't show me her world and my dreaming tree died. So now I just play with my TOOL.

    STFU

a few years back, I was eating lunch with the wife(99's in Charlestown) and some truly annoying chicks and dudes took the booth next to us.It took me about 5 minutes to remember that DMB had played Fenway Park the night before.
frat boys and shallow hot chicks, urrrrgh

DMB sucks. They have no talent and their fans are just as annoying as Dave mathew's voice.

Back in '97 I went to see DMB two nights in a row at Great Woods. First show was (at that time) one of the best (big) shows I'd ever seen. The next night was 90% of the same music...I left the weekend disgusted and vowed never to see them again.

I've heard similar stories since then. My advice would be to get tickets to either the first night or last night, party your ass off (as much as they allow now, things have tightened down at the Gorge), and drive off happy and buzzing from one show. It gets expensive up there too.

The Gorge rules, its worth the drive to see anyone play there. Be sure to look for some crazies on the rock bands behind the stage, they are always there dancing and getting the best views.

At least, I've seen them everytime....

I could'nt disagree with you more. I have seen DMB 18 Times, starting back at a small show in 92 or 93, I can't remember, but anyway, many of the shows have been when they played back to back nights at either Deer Creek or at Soldier Field, yeah they played a few of the same songs both nights, but in my opinion, were completely unique shows.

I will never attend another show out on the lawn, too many psuedo hippies, drunken frat boys, and Sorority chicks (at least they are nice to look at).

As far as a show at the gorge goes, If I had the opportunity I'd go to as many nights as i could get tickets for. I have seen them twice at red rocks and they were amazing shows.

I am here to say that the Gorge is better than Red Rocks.

    For at least three reasons.

Well, I went to Red Rocks for a concert once and hippies started throwing marshmellows at everyone. I like marshmellows, but hippie marshmellows just smell like hippies.

So It HAS to be better than that....

90% of the same music? I didn't realize DMB had more than one song...

Guess I'll have to listen more closely to find the minute differences between tracks.

ripping on other peoples music choices is soooo cool!!! You guys are like totally badasses, seriously though what are you in highschool?

Making fun of dave matthews is about as cool/original as all the 14 year old girls that go to the shows.

I feel kind of soy even posting in a thread about Dave Matthews, but there is something I want to get off my chest....

You know what I hate about Dave Matthews fans? The fact that they just refer to him as "Dave".

"Hey, are you going to the Dave show at the gorge?"

What, are you fucking buddies with him?

    Ok. That is all.
