Day 4 in Zion... or why I suck.

Well, after yesterday's epic afternoon of dipping my balls in the sacred mormon snow, I woke up with some sore quadriceps. It was raining in SLC, but I knew it would be snowing in LCC. I was faced with a choice- ski some more and risk hurting myself, or rest up for tomorrow's heli sessions.

I opted to sleep in and stay off the skis. I know, I'm a pussy, and will lose major maggot rank with this. But if you woke up with weak legs and had reservations for a heli 24 hours later, what would you do? I thought so.

Being an Olympics and indie film geek, I decided that a day trip to Park City was in order. I figure when I'm the next hot director, I should be familiar with the town when my films premiere at the Egyptian.

After strolling through Park City practicing my Hollywood bigshot poses, I headed over to the Olympic Park, and checked out the Alf Engen ski museum. Today's trivia: Fat skis were first made in the late 60's by a Utah local. The fact that they've been around so long makes me wonder why skiing's ultimate retro-grouch, Glen Plake, is so against them. Also saw a cool promotional film for Utah made by Dick Barrymore in the early 70's. Thhis was true ski porn- even had a porno-style sountrack!

Anyway, had a good afternoon, and the weather is looking awesome for tomorrow.

I want a 6" travel 20lb MTB. I found the 20lb MTB, but only good for riders under 87 pounds.

Take your vitamins, eat a good dinner and get some sleep so you can tear it up tomorrow.

    Enjoy the ride.

    Plakey, my man,

Alta today did not suck!!! But, you made the right call IMHO.

If I hear of you making even one turn tomorrow I'm gonna personally fly to Jersey and kick your ass!!!

P.S. You're a quick study to figure out that Alta kicks the Birds ass on any given day

Heliskiing on a bluebird pow day in the Wasatch tomorrow? Yeah, you made the right decision. Get some for us all and bottle the feeling for the rest of the year.

    Enjoy
