A decision has not been made as of yet for 2008, but it would seem very certain that the 6 pack or Gondola will be running in 2008 as the Burlingame Chair will be taken out.

    What a waste.

If the six pack or Gondola is the plan for next year, are you going to ask for approval of more trails? It would make sense that you would want to start building them ASAP. Otherwise, I don't see things getting better for a couple of years.

Theres a bunch of downhill stuff around Durango. Obviously Silverton, Purg, T-ride have lift access, but theres a bunch of cool shuttle trails. Log Chutes is about 15 minutes from town and is where they hosted the Worlds a few years back. There's also a trail off Missionary ridge that is supposedly insane, but I've never been and can't remember the name. There's also some steep stuff up La Plata Canyon.

We are in a holding pattern on the lift service because of the construction at the base area. The goal last year was to have the 6-pak running, but with those "lakes" they had at the bottom of Fanny Hill, this was not possible. They also use lower Fanny Hill as a staging area for the construction equipment.

The good news is that the new base area will be online and store and condos will be being used during the summer of 2008. My hope is that by summer '08 we have lift service riding from the top of the 6-pack to the bottom, inlcuding the Blast the Mass Downhill and some BC style riding. I really think (and hoping) that this is the last year of patchwork and some real progress can be made to make Snowmass the way we want it. It is already an outstanding mountain, but without a firm decision on what lift will run (Gondola or 6 pak) and knowing that Forrest Service Approval is needed, it is hard to say if the mtn will expand to Elk Camp or modify Sam's Knob.

Sounds like you need a full time PM on this stuff

It's too bad, I was hoping to be able to ride my bike bike out of the door this season. That being said, are there any shuttles worth it on a big bike?

Crested Butte has lift serviced shit, but its really not that great from a purely DH perspective, not many feature etc. There are some sweet trails off mountain but they require shuttles etc.

    Not for prob ten years

I was skiing with the owner of ski santa fe last week and he stated that because he keeps having to fight enviornmentalists for anything he wants to do at the ski area, there wont be any lift serviced mountain biking at ski santa fe for probably ten years. Those plans keep getting shuffled to the bottom. Not a big money maker and very expensive to build were also reasons stated. I was bummed to hear it.
Now I m not saying enviormentalists are bad , to the contrary. We need people to fight for clean air, water and the likes.
    Anyway jsut wanted to update.
As for biking in NM there is plenty of it. I m pretty new to the whole thing but there are maps out there detailing some killer NM singletrack. I plan on alot of exploring myself this summer.

I'm awesome at bobbing on dick, so its a big money maker but it's very expensive to build lots of bondage equipment. I was bummed, but also super horny to hear it.
Now I m not saying sex with monkeys is bad , to the contrary I love sex with primates. We need people to fight for the right to have anal gay ganbangs in public.
Anyway jsut wanted to update the world that my manpussy is up for anyone.

Wow you had alot to say AHOLE 505. Is this public tirade your idea of getting back at me for buying a bike that makes yours look like it should be at the front of a gay pride parade with you waving a rainbow nation flag and your pet monkey on your shoulder? Come on AHOLE, we all know about your primate fascination. Stop projecting and face it. Theres help out there for sick f@$#s like you bro. I thought you were in mexico with your wife but I get it now. Its all a cover and really your selling blowjobs to US tourists so you can buy a nicer bike . Every college guy you blow gets you madder and madder till you blow up and project your self hate at people on the internet.
Anyway yes I sleep with my ML every nite you know that.

sandia king of the mountain trail...bike it up or ride the lift on up the backside... or (i believe) you can take your rig up the frontside on the tram...its more technical switchback stuff through the trees than it is wide open bomber, but its only 20 minutes from the big burque...

    unfortunately not

Bikes are not allowed on the tram. But the ski area does still have lift serviced biking. Snows gotta melt first though.

I'd like to apologize on behalf of the captain. It once was captianpowder_420, but he had to drop the dope reference as he's now a productive member of society.

The captain doesn't know that sprockets in safe refuge. I was the one who started it, admittedly. The captain and I have been friends for many years...in fact I was his employer for a long time. Sadly, he could probably sue me for sexual harasment considering all the time I've called him faggot douchenozzle helper monkey homo ass fucker while working.

We're super close friends and my fake-quoting him this morning on my way out the door was just joking around.

Yo JR- see you this weekend? Ski maybe?
