Hey guys- Thanks for sending me the blems until my 179 softs are pressed. I had them out on some truely henious refrozen boilerplate corduroy this morning and they just Cadillac cruised it at mach speed without a ripple or a whimper. Nice quick shorties too. Made ice fun. We worked on the bases to fix a blem and had them razor sharp from shovel to tail. The straight cut takes some re-aquinting with, and you gotta be on your game, but the suckers rock. And these are the softs- pow skis, blems too. I switched to my Mantras and they felt downright skittish. Hang in there, and thanks.
well, after skiing sugarbush yesterday on the 179 fatties, here's the verdict - they fuckin rip! i have to admit when i opened the box last week from the DHL van, i looked at them and thought "what the hell did i get myself into". after a good pep talk from pat however i was ready and willing to "take command" as he instructed me to do.
sorry for no pics; camera never works well when you leave it at home. we arrived at sugarbush to find about 3" or so from the previous night, on top of a mix of soft snow with some firm underneath....overall it was soft for 8:00am and it got even softer as it hit 42 in the afternoon.
the first couple runs were interesting; afterall, it's a wide fucking ski - once you find where to ski them though you don't even realize you have 114 underfoot. they really are an engineering feat - pmgear absolutely nailed it, and really for the conditions that day if you were to tell me i would be skiing something with those dimensions, i would of thought you were fuckin crazy. i had a blast with them, whether railing groomers at mach looney, doing bumps down "steins" or just blasting through every kind of variable terrain, they were spot on......i just shook my head in amazment after every run. when there is significant snow here, or out west, these skis will totally own it - can't wait for that time.
if any one from the east is considering these but is thinking, "no way, they're just too much for the east scene" - i'm here to tell you, reconsider: for how burly they are, they are light, easy to throw around, and totally get the job done - never been on a ski with ALL those attributes before.
thanks again pat and crew, as always, for building an outstanding product, standing behind it, and providing the best customer service i've experienced with any company. actually, i was so impressed i went ahead to also order the skinny's (99 waist) as my everyday ride.
sorry, forgot to add![]()

Maiden voyage on Thursday @ Silverton. I wanted to take them with for my little outing with iski on Sunday, but since I put Freerides on them for EVERYDAY use and needed everything possible to TRY and make it, I went with the Dynafit rig (as ex-toad pointed out, the Dynafits may go on anyway). Thanks again splat, PUMPED
BTW – I can’t get any pix up in the user gallery to show you how to exactly get the full size image, but essentially you upload the pic to whatever hosting site you are using (i.e. user gallery, but I use photobucket) copy the URL, click on the little button with mountains on it and paste the link.

Had the same initial thoughts when opening the 192s a few weeks ago. To put it in perspective I'm 6'3" 225ish. They were by far the biggest skis I have been on. I had them out in SuCo and Aspen for a week. Skied almost all conditions imaginable. As you can imagine the skis rip the pow and crud. My second or third day on them I was bombing down through some pretty chewed up snow with a lot more confidence then I expected. As far as the hardpack goes they were stable and a bit quicker then expected. I'm not going to go as far as to say they are a one ski quiver, but they are a ton of fun in the soft stuff and I'm excited to get some more opportunities on them.
They are still out in Breck so anyone in the area who wears around a 314 boot sole and wants to take them for a spin can shoot me a pm.
/me looks at his feet
Hey! Im a 314mm!

Love to see you skiing your work, pech!

If everything works out, sounds like Ill have my ass handed to me Saturday at Copper by some very large skis.![]()
damn, if those 192's ever made it to vermont they would have to hide the women and children....actually, they should just be illegal anywhere east of the mississippi.
Just got home from NC and the Bros had arrived while i was gone. They look great. The blems are minor and we are super stoked. Only wish we had em mounted as it is dumping in town today and Red Lodge had 2 feet this morning and it is still dumping up there. Wife skied today and said it rocked! Thanks Pat.......really appreciate the dealio.

ROLL TIDE ROLL
A big brown box of 179 Fatties arrived.
They will be mounted with Dynafits soon.
A happy hubbie was SO surprised!
Thanks for sending them before June.
Kya can't wait to ride them,
whether in pow or crusty snow.
Thanks to all the men who made this happen.
I'm very appreciative, you know.
It took a little while,
but PMGear got it done.
Thank you for making me smile![]()
Buying skis has been so much fun!
Mahalo!
Kenai - You fukking rool. Customer of the year award!
Wow, I feel like crap. Was in Red Lodge three weeks ago and in the process signed up for the ski report email. Put my skis away for the year and yet those bastards keep emailing me all these "epic" reports of snow, openings, best snow we've had in two years, etc. And then there's the fact that I'm down to my last case of Red Lodge Ale and it's raining here in MN and there is NOTHING, fishing is even off with all the rain, that I can do. Spent today at a Flyfishng show, then a dance contest for my daughter. Woo woo, got to stand around and talk about fishing, then sit in the bleachers of a middle school and wait what seemed like hours for my daughters one song. Wait, I did wait for hours. It's all so meaningless without snow. I need to go and pop a RL Ale and close my eyes, get the kids to yell obscenities and daydream I'm in the Snowcreek. Yeah, maybe not so much with the kids yelling part, my wife might kick me right to the curb.
So, Montana. Get those Bros mounted TONIGHT! I skied mine for the first time at Red Lodge, and we only had 6 inches of fresh my first day, you need to get after it while you can!

Five minutes into the drive and you're already driving me crazy...
any chance you're planning on coming out with a slightly smaller little bro?
as much as I would love to, I'm not sure that at 5'7" and 126 pounds I could really handle the 179s. In fact, I'm pretty sure they'd own me.
i keep telling her she could rock the 179, but she's just adjusting to her non-east-coast-ski 170 auras.![]()
splat if come help you for a bit after graduation, any chance there'd be a pair of 168's for the 5'7 125# ripper chick?
We actually did a pair of skis that size this season. Tom made them and they ripped. We need to add that size to our quiver. And we always love it whe the ladies come by to help. Stay in touch.
