BD Havoc + Freeride Mounting Point suggestions

Many threads on mounting points and I hate to start another...but...having tried searching, I found quite a few threads on mounting points including UltyGuy's great thread, but little information pertaining specifically to Havoc mounting points. I remember replying to another post on the topic by SpamHelmet some time ago for Naxos, and sent him to Feed the Habit article, which recommended mounting forward of the line.

Having picked up some Havocs from the last SAC sale, I am now faced with the dilemma of where to mount the Freerides. I have been considering +1.5 cm of the recommended point (which is 76 cm from tail = midboot center mark).

What what have other users of this combination done, and have you been happy with the results?

These would be mostly for touring, but also inbounds east coast as well, so not a powder-only setup, but more mixed conditions. Very little park use expected.

    Stats:
    Skis: 173 cm Havoc
    Bindings: 03-04 Freerides (gray/yellow)
Boots: Scarpa Matrix 26.5 (may be using Denali XTs as well)
    Height: 5'8
    Weight: 160

well on the line would seem reasonable. 75ish mm from the tail on a ski thats actually closer to 176 from the photos Ive seen. For ref, Ive mounted 180 helidaddies with freerides somewhere between 75-72.5mm (I forget) and thought they felt pretty good. If i wanted them for what you describe, I would have gone +1.

Also, another measurement that usually is nice to have for reference, is how far back said line is from center. It seems like more twin tip jibby type things used for AM ski well around -7 to -9cm from center, whereas more traditional type skis (ie explosiv, m103) ski well around -12 to -15cm.

At 75-76mm, thats about -12 to -13 from center assuming the ski actually measures 176. Sounds reasonable.

I have 173 havocs with 26.5 matrix and 155 lbs and using dynafits. I have them mounted 1 cm back from the boot center mark. Still a little trouble floating in heavier deep snow but mostly pretty nice. I had them mounted tele on boot center earlier and didn't like it. No way I would go forward of boot center.

I have my 173 havocs mounted on the line, for a 287 bsl with freerides You are welcome to try them, I ski ASC and Gunstock. Sweet TR from near Shawnee Peak, BTW, was going to Sunday River last weekend via rte 5 and could see some promising spots (at least from that distance)
