I did have a pass the first two years they re-opened but decided not to make the purchase this year. I've been breaking even with the amount I pay in tickets compared to buying pass.

Looks like I'll be joining everyone. Could be on either pair of bro's or my ugly sharpie'd explosivs. Black helmet, buncha stickers (including PM ones), All other clothing up in the air.

i expect to be there monday...current plan: i'm meeting a buddy from NJ at MAD tomorrow, and we're gonna stay in burlington...and i planned on skiing there sunday too...all still up in the air. but i have another friend planning to do magic tomorrow...and it looks like conditions will be great for the extreme challenge...so i'm still not sure

will have to make the call soon, as i plan on hitting the road before things get too dicey

speaking of which, snow is falling in albany, as of about noon!

Fair enough. Inflation might make the pass a better way to go next year.

Schuss...we will keep an eye out.

True that...but with little elevens arriving in July, I think next season might be a tough one for me to get a bunch of days in. Besides, I like paying full price and helping the place out. I don't want to see my own private ski resort close down again.

Be safe driving everyone - it's nasty out there.

With the dissappearance of the ASC pass for next season, I'm looking for a mountain to affiliate myself with.
I may do that myself, although in low snow times I think Magic is a tough place to hang.

I'm not sure what passholder festivities include tomorrow (I'd been planning on Mt. slow myself until recently) (early lift access?), but I think you should skip Mt. Slow and go directly to Magic. I'm assuming the best way from Slow to Magic is back toward 91 from Wilmington and then up toward Stratton, and that's gotta be an hour of driving in good conditions--Saturday morning with snow, fuggedaboutit. Just go to Magic, it'll be much, much better on a pow day than Mt. Snow (kinda like an entire mountain similar to Mt. Snow's North Face but with more interesting terrain and much fewer people).

similar to the north face if you
a.) add another 600 or so feet of vert
    b.) tip it over
    c.) don't mow the snow
d.) throw in some very interesting compound fall lines, drops etc

yea i'd agree...better to arrive safe at magic, and save yourself the unnecesary extra boots on/boots off.

You mean those big pipes that are on the side of the trails aren't old school rails?

In all seriousness - the grooming has improved 10 folds from years past. Who's ever riding the rig now is doing a much better job than the past. (I can't believe I just typed that). But I do miss the fiddle player in the base lodge. Where did he go?

I can't even imagine what it used to be like. Coming from my background I think the grooming is pretty poor. Wait until next year, it will get better.

Yes, believe it or not, those pipes do serve a purpose other than getting in the way of the drop on the top of the Red Line.

I WANT TO HIT MAGIC TOMORROW.

No-one deserves a ride from Boston as much as I do!

Hey, it's starting to snow here at Killington...and I'm Jay-bound before it gets too bad.

So stoked to be taking the Jay tour w/ Sheskistrees & some other friends/mags. Thanks SST for this cool opportunity!

OK, would it work if I get to Portsmouth at 6:15am? The schedule is not so good:

Or, I could make it up tonight, except I was hoping to go to this madhouse:

Update: Much like the others I now have no idea where we are going, when we will get there or more importantly: HOW.
Roads are pretty evil right now through MA/NH. 93 southbound is closed I hear and northbound is a crawl.

yea, falldise's daughter is a ballsier skier than most grown men, she's an expert trash talker...and she eats A-1 sauce sandwiches, so you know she's CORE

so 'dise, which day are you doing? both??
am leaning towards magic saturday...not sure about sunday yet.

Nope- straight shot up Rte 100.

Dex- if you reconsider Mt. Slow Dromond and I will be in the lift line at about really fucking early tomorrow morning. I'll be wearing a green and orange jacket, black Giro with an MSP and "Ski The East" sticker, skiing on Kootenay Powdersticks (the topsheets have flames like a '57 Chevy hotrod). And if you're nice to me I might show you some stashes.
