    Mt. Bachelor Conditions right now?

We are planning on skiing Mt. Bachelor on Monday. How are the conditions?

Looking for a 2 bedroom + sleeper sofa or a 3 bedroom for 2 nights for eco $$. Any recommendation?

BTW: Same thing for Boise accommodation

    Thanks for any help!

Bachelor right now is not so good. Plenty of base, about 120". We had rain on Monday and then it cleared and cooled off thus things are very much "east coast ice" right now. Winds and cooler temps have kept it from corning up. should be better later today and the weekend looks like corm may be ripe for harvest with free air freezing levels predicited to be at 10,000 feet (Bachelor summit is 9,035 feet). Be sure to give a shout out if you are in town, Monday I'll be working in the demo shop and should be able to get out and make a few laps. Get hold of Tap as well .. and other Bend Mags. As for digs, The Westward Ho on South 3rd street (Hwy 97) should have what you want for cheap. Red Lion will be a bit nicer but a few more bucks. North Hwy 97 has a number of Motels.

As above, Saturday should be good Harvesting. I'll be working in the Demo shop all weekend.

More than likely Hoodoo may have corn early on and then become a sticky slush fest by noon. On the other hand Backside will .... oh never mind, Hoodoo should be just wonderful.

uhuh.... especially with the lower elevations.

my other option is driving up friday night and skiing saturday at bachelor.

I guess the only real hard pack on bachy will be the summit. Everything should get nice after 10-11.

Well if you do make it over here stop in and ask for change. Usually I can get out for some laps.

Latest forecast looks like possible rain for Monday. That’s not what we would like to have.

How busy is it on a weekend?

We could still change travel plans and ski there Saturday or Sunday or Monday. For sure only one day.

Saturday looks to be the day for Bachy. Tomorrow even better. But I have to work of course.

Prolly will drive back towards PDX on Sunday and ski Hoodoo for a few hours too.

Bdog... if I get over there, I'll ask for change. Stayin' at the Red Lion.

Weekends are of course busier than weekdays. I'd roll with the weather forecast and ski Saturday or Sunday. Things were much improved today over yesterday. Wind was down, summit was open and backside was the place to be. Creamy corn, fine views and wide open. Other than sled tracks WAY into the area off the catch line and fucking up some of the fine bowls it was wonderful. If it ain't going to snow it might as well corn up I suppose.

Extreeski: yeah, stop in for sure if only to say hello.

    We're drivin up tomorrow night.

Gonna prolly be at the Deschutes Brewery Saturday Night.

Then making the drive back Sunday to Santiam Pass to ski hoodoo @ least.

Padde, feel free to stop by and give a shout out.

Thanks for the Beta. I've still got some warm snow wax. (I stock up on it cause I love pnw spring skiing.) Crowds at bachelor aren't like crowds at Meadows or Crystal. The good grooming and fast lifts will make that corn that much sweeter when I am making faster and more laps. I don't expect serious steep gnarls barkley. But some of the stuff a few degrees around on the backside, amongst the snow ghosts, is just awesome. Then dropping into the forest.

    Drool.

How is the front or backside of the little cone doin. I bet it's buttery.

    Cheers.

Yeah, I was thinking we should all get together Sat. Night. Better places than the Deschutes but that would be ok too. PM me for my cell or just get it if you stop by the demo shop. Seems like Sat. is St Paddys day. Good timing eh?
The cone corned up nice today. Cows was still an ice cube but long sweet rollers down Larry's and Gumbo off the backside yielded some butta'. Saturday looks to be a fine day. See you then.

GI Joes has some five packs and I think Costco too. Not sure that would help if you only need three one day tickets. You'll need to go to a Joes or Costco somewhere other than Bend as Bend is blocked out by the mountain. Ah yes, it is after all the evil empire. Skiing should be good on Saturday. Looks like the best day of the weekend and Monday looks to be poo.

No Costco this year, just GI Joes 5-packs. Not avail at the Bend GIJoes, but most of the others.

Try Craigs List for folks listing onesies/twosies
    http://bend.craigslist.org/search/sss?query=bachelor
    Other cities too.

    ($52 per ticket = list)
Good runs when you get them.

Might be a good idea to ski early. Temps inverted and it was 49 degrees F at the summit at 0830 today. Great corn but it started to get baked early. See youz all tomorrow AM. Stop by the demo shop. Pretty sure I can get out early for a few laps.
