This is annoying- help me out.

My TGR password is not recognized automatically anymore. Whenever I click the link, I have to input the username and password. Also, every time I want to post a thread, I have to re- login. What gives? Did I erase a cookie or sumtin'?

    I'm on a Mac.

Thanks, it is driving me nuts.

There's a check box in your user profile to click if you want to be logged in automatically isn't there. Check to make sure it wasn't accidentally unchecked.

I don't see one in user profile. You sure?

I have the same issue. It was discussed before in the ASK TGR forum, but as far as I know there was no resolution. It still annoys me, but i have mostly gotten used to it.

It is a Mac Safari - issue, as far as I know using firefox will fix the issue.

more information about this. seems to be a way safari is handling the cookies expiration time. check out the posts from dec 13th onwards:

suit or webguy: i'm available for testing this if you apply the fix as i can reproduce the problem 100% with the latest safari

This very issue caused me to use firefox more, and I never looked back. I hardly ever open Safari now.

It times out and logs you out on Safari after about 15 minutes of no activity. If it makes you feel any better, it happens to The Suit too. The thread in Ask TGR has a couple workarounds, or switch to Firefox or just accept it l guess.

The weird thing is, it just started last week. I have had a Mac for over a year.

Must have been one of those damn updates. I knew those would bite me in the ass one of these times.

No I'm not sure but I thought there was somewhere to do it. Can't find it... guess I totally made that shit up.

it used to work fine. started breaking about 8 or so months ago. your original cookie was set back when it was working and expired after a year. new cookie was never set properly.

I just saw the old post on Ask TGR. Apparently it is an alien tracking system. Damn- they are on to me.

I had the same problem. Just downloaded Firefox 2 and it's fixed. However, now I sometimes can't scroll down with my arrow key. Same for the rest of you?

firefox didn't doesn't fix it on my computer, I have been using it for about 9 months and 6 months ago it started to do it to me. for some reason, the cookie expiration time is short.

i've been having problems on safari ever since i looked into the original thread complaining about the problem.

i clicked on the thread thinking i could help, me being all computer literate and stuff, but after laughing at the person and moving on, i too was afflicted with the logout problem - aargh

I use firefox a fair amount, but safari's still my main browser ... hmmm
oh well, maybe someday it will be fixed.

I have not had to log in again since I downloaded FF last night. The scrolling function is still off though. I cannot scroll down with arrows or shortcut functions (even if I highlight part of the text). However, when I come to the advanced posting page, I get both capabilities back. Weird.

Immediately after I posted that, I had both functions back. Double weird. It probably won't last.
