If that's the gist of it, you're nuttier than a tin of almond roca.
the bankruptcy mention was in response to your post with the poverty line sob story. I'm not too sure about the Islamist theocracy prevention part. in relation to this thread.

And as long as he's going to throw out a bunch of stereotypes, how about a couple based on his opening statements:
    For starters ...

    (a) I don't go to the grocery store all that often.
    (b) When I do go, I use cash. No credit cards. No debit cards.
    a) He doesn't go to the grocery store because he leaves that to "the little lady" who also cooks the meals and does the laundry, as it should be.

    b) He's old. But, hey, at least he doesn't write a check. Why the hell do people still write checks at the grocery store??

since welfare is so evil to you, where is your outrage of corporate welfare? one example: government no bid contrtacts.. overcharges to the government by companies such as haliburton, bechtel boeing, mcdonald douglas.. i guess the egos of the people in these companies wasn't big enough to keep them out of the "grey: area eh??

    "shacking up with dealers?"

That's a pretty broad stereotype, don't you think?

Single parents that have low incomes are in this too, not every stereotype your imagining, with their "fuckbuddies"

Can you stay on topic instead of bouncing around, nobody ever said corporate welfare is any better. But again I qualified "grey area" with the "wealthy" people that I know. aka Small Business Owners that have a nest-egg and also provide something to the community. Now your throwing red-herring like my wife.

silly me. i thought that welfare was welfare, and tax dollars were tax dollars... who knew welfare was so much different than welfare, and that a tax dollar wasted on a poor person was so much more costly than a tax dollar wasted on a corporation? thanks for opening our eyes to your fuzzy math. i never knew bush was such a math genius when he uttered that phrase before the last election

Context of the whole discussion was bout welfare moms, had your argument been stronger perhaps you could have countered with something relevant. Thus you jumped to another argument just like a woman.

Fuzzy math, fuck you I've got BS in computer science and appplied math..............

Painfully aware of that fact. Just a little pissed because this is the same shit that went down in the "kerry sex scandal" thread.

wasn't it mr gyptian that started that thread, based on the online gossip ( since refuted as a lie) of the republican mouthpiece matt drudge?

I don't even know who started it. But at the beginning we were just talkin' about the media and wondering what would happen. It seems the media has investigated that deal and it doesn't seem to be much of an issue. I don't think anyone really cared one way or the other, it was mostly an interesting story. From there it became a flame war. I posted my opinion then was called names and shit for my opinions. That's bullshit. Again, if someone wants to talk about issues I'll be the first in line. If someone wants to call me names or bash me for my opinion then they can go blow goats.

    Here's something we can discuss:
    http://www.tcf.org/Publications/Econ...g_goodrich.pdf

The scenario laid out on the first page is pretty interesting. It certainly helps explain to me why my wife and I pay so much in taxes.

Anyone with any counterpoints, fire away!

Sorry, I didn't read the whole thing. One thing I'd point out is that this is obviously some sort of propoganda, I don't know which side though, again, I didn't read it all.

One thing I will say is that the "man of leisure" had to get there the same way you or I do. Unless he's born to wealth, then someone in his family got and paid they're fair share. I've never been a proponent of the current tax system. I don't think it works well and penalizes people for succeeding. It also has many loopholes that people can use. I liked the rhetoric that went around a couple of elections ago about the flat rate income tax.

I do think it is beneficial for corps to get some incentive to make more products and create more jobs. Is that to say that they should do business for free, no.
