Never been myself. I have a friend down there taking some climbing and guiding courses, seems to be liking it. What draws me is not so much the city part, but the fact that it is a place that I might be able to take a university co-op work term in south's winter, when they have snow and we don't. Made some friends with some Kiwi's who are at the university now, seem like nice people. Maybe Santiago Chile for a similar reason, and to experiance a different culture, but I can't speak Spanish.
San Fran and Portland would be my first two choices in the States.
International, Buenos Aires hasn't been mentioned but has a lot of the benefits of NYC (culture, history, food, architecture, a beautiful mix of women) at 1/10 the price. Quick trips to LL, Bariloche, Patagonia, Brasil, Uruguay w/o American airport BS.
Haven't been there, but would also like to check out Geneva...
effin a right- I'm all for civic pride and everything, but heysoos kristo. There's cool stuff going on, no doubt, but there's cool stuff going on in fucking Cleveland, too.
Seriously though- I'm a HUGE WaWa fan (my ma literally bought groceries there for the 4 of us when things were hectic on a regular basis), and I luvs me some Chestnut Cabaret and juan and pedros in No Hope...
No Roger, No Rerun, No Rent
How is it that nobody has said barcelona??
I would think Dublin would make the list w/ryanair flts to geneve, etc., too. Effin love that place.

Per Capita hotness in a large US city has to belong to PHX. If I didn't ski, that's where I would love to live. Real mexican food, uncontrolled urban sprawl, pure fucking bad-ass.
Skiing wise, I'm pretty happy where I am at, even though it's smaller than windyfuckbag, NV.
I love living in Vancouver, and barring ridiculous money offered to me to go someplace else I'm never leaving. I can't live without the ocean or mountains, and this place has both. My experience is limited though, I'd love to see San Diego, San Fran, NYC, and Boston (BoSox are a pretty big draw for me).
The schools in the ANCHORAGE area (not the rest of the state) are always scoring at the very least above average on test scores overall. on the sat's and act's, they are always above the national average by many percentage points. Over all, after having worked in the school system in several states (MN included) i would say Anchorage schools are much better. So i guess you had better ask Owens to find a job for you.
Sadly, N. exposure was filmed in, gulp. Roselyn, WA, no AK. BUT ,if you love flying, AK is the place. the most private planes anywhere in the us and the has the biggest float plane terminal in the world--Lake Hood.
See yuh up in AK as soon as i graduamate for the LAST time....Until then, i know this REALLY nice how for rent in a GREAT part of Anchorage with a SPECIAL mag discount....

SF. All the other cities are so gay.

I live in Louisville - not Kentucky although I would if it came down to it! 20 mile from Denver is close enough!

I'm back up in Anchorage after four years at school in Oregon, a winter in China, and half a winter in SLC. Funny how it seems so much better when you're not in high school. Also, with so many good local microbrews, two good ski areas within an hour, and the summers ... I think I'll be staying.
Vienna would have to be a second choice, though. Easily the best three months of college were spent there, and it also has probably the highest ratio of things I can't talk about to days spent living there out of anywhere I've been. There was also something about skiing in the Alps - but we spent too much time chasing girls in Innsbruck to remember much.
Given the REAL fact of Global warming, Alaska (and sweden) might apparently become the new wine regions...time to invest!
Is "Tahoe City" a city?
Christchurch would be nice.
I've only lived in a couple of cities (outside of Boston, in DC proper), and have been in the Bay Area for 15 years. Love San Francisco and this area, though definitely prices are out of control, and you have to have a certain tolerance for traffic and cold summers. But, definitely a place I'll be for life. Can't imagine living anywhere else.

I like Nice, Brussels, Vancouver and Stockholm. But I'll prolly stay in BelliWash.
