LL, Fernie, Horse: Rain or Snow?

Seeing big precipitation numbers everywhere around here, but also high temps. Heard LL had about 4" wet and heavy today and was still dumping, just curious if it's even deeper in Fernie and KH as reported, or has the rain come?

The snow report is bullshit, we're screwed until a big dump. Rained a lot today to the very top...supposed to continue tonight (or who knows, a miracle can happen and mucho snow)

Just what I was afraid of, but glad to hear it now so I can save the trip until after the next real dump.

    Any word from the Horse?

there was 20cms in the alpine bowls this morning at Fernie but it was super heavy. It then rained on top of that. It was not much fun.

    Kicking Horse..

Just got home from a trip to Kicking Horse travelling from Kelowna...Gondala was closed all day for major avalanche control...Got some info from a Patroller today. Said there was quite a bit of snowfall, however it rained and formed a pretty bad rain crust. Lots of natural avalanches lots of bombing today. So he basically summed it up to be shitty avy debris skiing on ice...nice...not to mention the highways were a mess...closed in both directions at one point because of high avy danger to the west and a mudslide to the east. Rogers Pass was crazy too..I have never seen so much avalanche activity in my life...over 2 doz slides easy....at least 6 across the road...Thank god Packers Pub in Golden was good or else it would have been a totally pointless roadtrip!

Oh good stuff, what are you doing up there? I'd love to head up there earlier in the season next year.

Not doing much out here...was supposed to come just for second semester to ski, can't leave though..moving to a house for summer but my roommate has to go back to university in september so it all depends on housing and stuff for next season (and if I want to go to sait or take a year off) But more than likely i'll be here

Hey gang, I'd be much obliged if you could keep me updated this week on conditions. Have a trip that I'm pretty much totally locked into for next week (19th and on) in that neck of the woods, would be great to know what I'm getting into.

    Thanks

Skied KHMR the last two days, great conditions up high. Untracked lines into Feuz and Whitewall two days in a row. Rained about half way up yesterday so less than stellar conditions on the lower half. Colder today with some sun and light snow.

We're headed to Rogers tomorrow. Anybody with any conditions updates. Looks like stability is improving with cooler temps, but it was pretty bad to begin with.

rain in banff town and +10'c, think the lake had rain, plus 2 days of 15'C and a freeze overnight might be a bit firm.

Don't think it will be very nice skiing for a bit......

ask on biglines, lots of AB locals on that site.

Forecast is calling for snow and low temps the next couple days at the lake. Should be good by Thurs.
