    Milwaukee Anyone?

Anyone here from Milwaukee, or the surrounding area or have any business contacts in the area? I'm moving there for the summer to live near my girlfriend and have been in the process of applying to jobs in the area but so far haven't heard back from anyone. I figured I'd check here to see if anyone had any type of contact information or any assitance that could at least get my resume looked at or possibly even an interview. I know its a long shot but there it is. Please PM me if you can help me out at all. Thanks.

I'm a business and economics graduate. I'm looking for any entry-level position or internship in basically any type of business related job that will help build my resume. Ideally I'd like to get into Crabel Capital Management, Baird, or another financial institution in the area. Working with asset management, foreign currency, research or analyst positions. However I am willing to take any type of analyst position.

Sorry for not being clear before.

What Crass said! I'm an executive recruiter from MPLS but do some work in WI. If I can't help, a guy that I went to high school has a recruiting firm and a temp firm in the greater Milwaukee area. Or you could just stand outside Alpine Valley before a Jimmy Buffett concert and sell weed.

When you roll into town, Hit the "Safe House", cool little bar. In fact that whole area of downtown Milwaukee is really nice. Great food and booze, oh and did I mention you can get a beer there?

    Good Luck,
    Jay

Well, that would be right up my alley but I don't have anything in the Milwaukee area right now. As close as I can come is Eau Claire. PM me and I'll get you in touch with my buddy from HS.

skiaholik: So, do you come to Milwaukee often?
Crass3000: Well, I'm a regular visitor here, but Milwaukee has certainly had its share of visitors. The French missionaries and explorers began visiting here in the late 16th century.
mnflyfish: Hey, isn't "Milwaukee" an Indian name?
Crass3000: Yes, mn, it is. In fact , it's pronounced "mill-e-wah-que" which is Algonquin for "the good land."
skiaholik: I was not aware of that.

I'm from Racine. Probably can't help you on the job front - I had a buddy that worked for Baird, but he left to go back to grad school. I'll shoot him a email and see if he is still in contact with any of his coworkers.

I can help you with stuff to do/see - the lake front is great in the summer - don't miss SummerFest. And make sure you get up to visit Madison while your in town.

I've been doing that. It's hard not to be tempted when the money is so good and often more than some career professionals make initially. Thanks everyone for the help so far, I appreciate it very much.

If MBA's were worth a flying steaming pile of dog shit that would be the #1 admission requirement.

My sister and her husband are vice cops in Milwaukee.
I grew up there. Summer time is the fun time to be in Milwaukee: festivals, the lake, tailgate parties, lots of road biking, and everyone drinks way too much.

Summerfest is the one of the best music festivals in the country! Lots of other things going on in Milwaukee that take your mind off the Mtns.....beer, brats, lake Michigan, beer, brats, the Brewers, golf, beer, brats, and other sausages.
